I have friends who own snakes, and they make great pets. The snake owners that I know are intelligent and would not allow their snakes to harm anyone.

Councilman Houff never directed the snake ordinance towards Mr. Washington. Instead, he felt that Clifton Forge should be protected against any live snake or reptile that was not contained in public.
The proposed ordinance read as follows: It shall be unlawful for any person to carry or wear any live snake or reptile in public unless such snake or reptile is securely placed in an acceptable animal carrier so as to prevent escape or injury to the snake or reptile, another animal or a human being.

we have a pet snake and like the other view stated they are great pets , and i think that this individual should have the right to take his pet out just like any other dog or cat , a agree snakes are scary to some people but he had on his neck just like we carry ours his name is Buddy about 8 1/2 feet long also a red tail boa , never bit anyone , well fed , not temperment at all , its around his neck and he carries it with him its his right to do so these pets are no different than any other pet , i fell that they are part of the family and you love them , dont take that from him and does the snake good to get outside they need the uv rays to stay healthy. Also a snake that size can not eat a ten pound animal i go from experience with buddy
