Clara barton founded a great organization, the American Red Cross, during the civil war and it still continues providing disaster services today no matter what race, age, gender or religion. She is a hero. What would you do if your house burned down and the red cross wasn't there? You should definately make a movie about this heroic woman.

Yes, Rosa Parks is pretty cool, however I hope that Bainpop will make a video of Jane Austen. She too is an amazing women who contributed to world literature. She wrote the famous stories: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensability, these stories she wrote were mainly stories which revolved around her own personal life. She and her sister never married, however Jane Austen was said to have had an affair with a young Irish man named James Lefroy, however her mother was against this and tried to get her to marry a man who had money. Years later Mr. Lefroy said her indeed had once been in love with her thogh no longer held a romantic interest in her. After her father had died her, her mother and sister both suffered, they didn't have enough money of high tax and her married brother didn't help too much.

Rosa Parks indeed made a very large mark on history, however Jane Austen also did make a mark. These women were great people, though I think that Jane Austen should have a video made by BrainPOP on her life, mind and forbidden love affairs she had against her mother's wishes.

This young woman left her mark in books, and Rosa Parks left her mark in the premanent way people think of Racism, they both have left marks which no one else will possibly be able to forget, though I hope very much that Jane Austen will be able to make her mark with a video made by BrainPOP, in order for us to know more about her secret life and reading her life on the pages of books she wrote, using her words, her thoughts allowing future people to know more about her world ad what she went through as a young adult.

I think Rosa Parks "the Mother of the Civil Rights" did more than to claim a seat, because, refusing to go back and staying at the front line talks about courage and challenging.

That is why her boldness makes history and causes big changes since then.

Other women that inspire me it's Clara Barton the "Angel of the Battlefield." She is a good example of doing the good work and valor. She was brave enough to help the wounded in the middle of the battlefield without expecting a reward of a very juicy sum of money that in her days were greatly needed just as in our present days; maybe many wounded died without the time to pay her with at least a Thank you! words. Her reward was to see men alive and safe.

Red Cross in America is her legacy.

I hope that Rosa Parks wins because she played a huge role in history. All she wanted was to sit at the front of the bus.Just think if she hadn't done it the U.S. might still be segregated

  • Jasper Black - 15 years ago

I think they should use Rosa Parks.

I voted for Rosa Parks. She is an important part of history, and she should be remembered. I agree with Esther that this website does rock. Sarah is somebody else I agree with. Rosa Parks deserved to sit in the front of the bus.

I'm not saying Rosa Parks didn't do anything, but if you knew, you would know that Rosa didn't do much. She only stood up (or really kept sitting) for what she believes in. People started boycotting, people refused to ride the buses. Rosa only refused to stand that it I hope Jane Austen wins. She was a great novelist.

With the shortage of nurses, Clara Barton is an excellent example of the need then and now for truly talented and giving caregivers. Even though I am not a nurse, I was truly influenced by her when studying her in Junior High School.

  • Vanessa Russell - 15 years ago

I love Rosa Parks because she did the right thing

  • cristib32 - 15 years ago

  • Victoria - 15 years ago

This is like trying to pick your favorite child, they are all so special. I voted for Martha because my girls ae dancers.

  • Ronka - 15 years ago

I think many students already KNOW about Rosa and Sacajawea. Especially for Women's History I think you need to highlight women who have done a lot and are not as well known. All students need to know there are more than 10 famous women who helped shape the world.

I think Rosa Parks! She rocks my socks man! Thanx to her, us hispanics/black dont have to deal with segregration problems. She was an insparation and a symbol of courage. GO ROSA PARKS!!!!!!!

  • Sarah - 15 years ago

I think Rosa Parks should be on the next movie because she was brave. Rosa wanted to sit at the front of the bus instead of the back, because she didn't care about the color of her skin. It wasn't fair all the blacks were at the back and the whites were up front. Every one should be treated equally.
