Do you think the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the Congressional stimulus plan, will help the economy?

Not only will it not help, I think it will make matters worse.

Any company that receives a government contract, state or federal, will most likely have the employees necessary to complete the task.

You know usually republicans bring us out of a recession and Democrats put us into a recession. Now that a Republican was in office when we went into this depression and the people put a Democrat in office I see very hard times. He is doing just what Democrats do spend and give away programs which in good time would put us into a recession. Now that we are already in a depression not a recession we are in trouble very dire trouble.. I see a lot of Americans going with out bare necessity and older Americans and younger ones starving right here in America.

In a word "NO" it will not help. It's going to get worse. The more tax money that is used to buy control of private business, the further we dig ourselves in.The spending plan is 1000 pages and no one has read it. A blank check has been issued starting today and there is no going back. This solution has been tried before and did not work here and in other countries. The stock market is crashing because this spending plan is poison to our economy. We will not see better times until private business is encourged and that is what built this country. We as a people have forgotten our own history and now are doomed to repeat it. It doesn't matter who you voted for, we have to remember our elected officials work for us and are not dictators. Please do some research on socialism and make up your own mind if that is what we want. I don't think it is. We can still be supportive to our President and country while letting our voices be heard. We should resist expanding our government so large that small business becomes extinct. We are giving away our freedom and I don't know about any one else but I would like to start my own business one day.With a huge intrusive government that will not be possible. There is a bright side to all this. If we continue down this road to economic suicide we will not have to worry about our boarders any more, people that are willing to die trying to get in to this country for a better life will stay home. They will have better luck where they are.
