Why oh why can I not select "All of the above." Every one of these decades produced a significant amount of valuable material to Rock and Roll. And the 50s too, there are still people who think of Buddy Holly and Elvis when they hear the term "Rock and Roll."

More interesting would be to match these results with the age of the respondents. For me it was easy: The Stones and Led Zeppelin did their best work in the '70s, so the 70s it is. I suspect someone ten years younger for me would reach for two bands that did their best work in the 80s. Er. As silly as that sounds.

two votes for "all of the above", and to add the rest of the century as well... there was a lot of excellent popular music that came from earlier in the 20th century.
