For our cottage in New Hampshire we use an outside aerial on a twenty foot mast with an amplifier to get a snowy picture from the Boston channels. When I checked the government’s web site and I found out that there were not any channels listed. I enter our address and I got this message “There are no stations predicted to serve this location.” GREAT. The nearest cable is over ten miles away! That leaves us with the only option to get a satellite dish. We will now have to pay for something that we were getting for free.
Ouch. Yes, the government might have considered waiting to force this switch on broadcasters and the viewers until everyone was covered. Because of the digital signals, some viewers on the fringe of markets will get little to no signal, and other viewers who haven't been able to get a signal will now be able to. But it sucks that they couldn't get things closer to the way they were the "old way."
