Have You Ever Fought Over a Gadget?

Back in the day I had an iRiver iFP-120. I has the Best Buy service plan and eventually used it to upgrade to the 320. I then spent several weeks and countless hours working to win a free iPod during those pyramid scams and managed to pull it off. My plan? Sell it and buy a real HDD MP3 player, so I sold it, and used the money to trade my iFP-320 up to an iHP-120 (at the time much better than an iPod). I eventually traded that for an H10, and eventually traded that in for a Creative Zen Vision: M. My wife, meanwhile, was commuting on the train a lot and begging to borrow it. She wasn't careful with electronics, it made me nervous, plus it was mine. She borrowed it a lot, but it was an issue. One time I made a comment about she might as well keep it as clearly it wasn't mine anymore, and she got pissed and threw it straight at my head. Interestingly enough after I went ahead and let her borrow it the very next day, upon her return home it never worked again. Hard drive failure. She claimed she hadn't dropped it, but dents on the corner told me otherwise.

I now have a Zune that she bought me for my birthday last year, complete with an inscription that says "Just for you." And she's never asked to borrow it from me.
