What do you use an H1 for?

Perhaps the poll should be not what do you do now/in the past, but what SHOULD you do. I'm changing to #h1title, and voting for change.

Without knowing that you'd cleverly put together this poll here I'd tweeted yesterday about the use of website name for an H1 (http://twitter.com/iheni/status/1170099228) and multiple H1's on a page (http://twitter.com/iheni/status/1170147541).

I'm in the H1 as the page title and avoid multiple H1's camp but seem to continually have the same battle with web devs about this. Problem is it's not supported by WCAG (1.0 or 2.0) as the specs don't go far enough to specify.

Really glad you got this poll up and running - I'll post it to some mailing lists with end users on as I suspect it's been mostly web devs via twitter who've added their two pence worth so far.

You can now put your opinion across by using the hashtags #h1logo or #h1title

I second what Edd just said - I'm going to swap my h1s and h2s right now!

This has certainly sparked some strong opinions. I am working on creating a balanced argument for my latest blog post, and will post the link on Twitter when it is like.

I would appreciate all of your comments.

I've always just used it on the company name without thinking about it that much to be honest. I admit seeing this will make me change my ways now. In fat, I shall start with that site I'm building right now!
