Do you think taxing all downloads is a good idea to raise money to offset the budget shortfall?

Yes, this could generate a lot of revenue!

No, better management of the budget is what's needed!

Unsure.

They always head to taxes for the first solution. What do you say we "don't" tax downloads so that money will stay in the already downed economy, and give us a chance to get out of this depression. If this passes, I will not purchase music from offline. Easy as that.
How about sitting down and actually figuring out a new budget plan?

First Sen. Basnight with the ‘sin tax’, now Kay Hagan (we get to see her true colors now!) slapping her fine North Carolina constitutes with a tobacco tax hike from 35 cent to one dollar. ‘We the people’, who trusted Mr. Basnight enough to vote into office yet another time, should follow Sen. Marc Basnight and the newly elected NC Sen. Kay Hagan around to find out just exactly what they like to spend their personal money on and vote to tax that. Much like they are doing to us, taxing our tobacco, alcohol, music, ringtones and our toilet paper could be next if bidets have been installed in the Legislative Building in Raleigh. Now I don’t mean in a stalking way, just observe them at a distance, or perhaps persecute them in a similar style of rival television news stations. Why don’t these good Senators raise taxes for people with ocean front property (especially since we know that their Flood Insurance will be lowered and those of us paying inland flood insurance will NOT), add extra taxes on second homes, double taxes on beach homes or lake homes, add ‘extra’ airfare taxes; add extra taxes for frequent flyer miles; higher taxes for 3-5 star hotel accommodations; extra taxes for corporate season ticket holders; higher taxes on the vineyard owners not the drinkers; higher taxes for the movie makers in Wilmington. (As far as flood insurance, FEMA mandates homeowners purchase flood insurance and there’s nothing they can do about it, so homeowners should get a tax credit for that, end of statement!)
Get the big dawgs in the pocket for a change instead of constantly hitting the working men and women who are making the money for them. That's just 'one' of the reasons our country has the economic trouble it has today. "REMOVE FAR FROM ME VANITY AND LIES; GIVE ME NEITHER POVERTY NOR RICHES; FEED ME WITH FOOD CONVENIENT FOR ME” Proverbs 30:8.
Maybe our fine Senators for our state and from our state should live by the word as they represent us instead of shoveling their empty words at us. In the meantime, I for one will continue to pray for them, our state and our nation and the rest of the leaders.
