If global warming isn't taken seriously, more violent storms and winds will cause untold damage in life and property. With an already depressed economy, where will the money come from that is required to rebuild damaged communities? It will be a continuing downward spiral. Earth first, please.
The world has been warming unevenly for over ten millennia, since the peak of the last ice age; the trend is nothing new at all. Besides, what's wrong with longer growing seasons? As for the cause, look (through protective lenses, of course!) to the Sun, which is emitting a little more energy, these days, as compared to thirty or forty years ago. Then again, how many folks have seen the 75-minute Channel Four (UK) documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle?" I downloaded it and occasionally give copies of it to folks.
