Hi me again from 3 years ago.... Chrome is still the best.

  • Ola - 8 years ago

    Chrome is the best.

  • Mannyk - 8 years ago

I used Firefox for about two years and it was fine for the most part.
However for the past 5 months it freezes periodically for no apparent reason.
I tried to contact Firefox to no avail, and no remedy that i can find on the net.
So I switched to Opera. It is a little getting used to but no freezing .
So I thing I will stick with O until proven wrong!

I like Firefox because its very fast browser and easy to access, I am having a good experience with this browser, I also have searched a browser over the web, i.e. Nano Browser which is fast and advanced browser that provide a number of features such as Notepad, Share links, Nano shot which is you can take a screenshot in a single click and many features that are very attractive, it's a user friendly browser that runs on every device.

I have been using chrome because I have windows xp. I like IE, but have read too many times not to use it with xp. I really like cometbird, but they keep wanting me to update to IE8 and I can't do that. Chrome is driving me crazy because it freezes up so often. I hate chrome and now don't know what to do next.

  • Bored at work - 10 years ago

Chrome is fast and is easy to use. It is no where near as secure as firefox or any of the up and coming browsers like pale moon.

Anyone who says differently is clueless or pushing some weird chrome agenda.

I am an IT tech super for a state agency, so spare me the chrome is as secure as anyone nonsense.

So it depends what you want from a browser. Max ease of use then chrome is a good choice.

For security one of the mozilla browsers is a much better and secure platform.

Also chrome security addons are nothing like what other browsers offer. It's funny to even here ppl imply it. They include a few popular addons like addblock but doesn't support the security addons like no script.

As I said about 3 years ago..... Google Chrome rocks. I have had it since the beta version!

  • Joyfulgozo - 11 years ago

1/14/2013 --And the winner is: Mozilla Fire Fox
Also, FF has a wonderful add-on called abcTajpu. If one is into typing in other languages, this supplies those international characters, even if you are in an email or a social network. It is nearly always available (can provide the characters that the U.S. -International keyboard can't provide, i.e. a degree sign.) BTW, I also keep my keyboard in the United States-International choice (found via the Control Panel). This is another major asset, for making the accented vowels etc..

Overall, I'm into security qualities and functionality. IE seemed great (long ago, circa Jan. 2006) but one day Fire Fox wanted in. So, I let it in. My laptop was using the XP OS. (Vista hadn't arrived yet.) This was seemingly all okay. It was an "as is" laptop hand-me-down.
I'd experienced some crashes & eventually I bought a new LT in Dec. 2008. Using it rt. now. Vista is the operating system. From that yr. thru now, I have "played" with IE, FF, & Chrome.

Throughout that time, I have learned that Chrome is the most secure, IE is worst in security, & FF can be okay, especially if one uses W.O.T. /// When I tried Chrome for an extended period of time, however, I found that I couldn't open all the financial sites. So, I went back to FF. I keep my security on Medium, & social sites on the https for the security purposes. And the content control is very conservative.

    Have fun with your choices//Joyfulgozo!

I really like Google Chrome for its simplicity, fastness and security.
The extensions have hugely developed and its just like Firefox, having all the addons.
I'd definitely recommend everybody to switch to Chrome.

Maxthon is much better than most of the well known ones, it even works great on smart Android phones.

  • Annie - 13 years ago

I have been trying different browsers and the more I use Opera, the more I love it. It was eay to use without tweeking, but there are lots of extensions and widgets. The speed dial page is awsome and turbo loads slower internet services quickly. Where Firefox was stumped, Opera loaded the web page. It is also fully customizable.

  • jim - 13 years ago

FF is good for me even I have mac(safari). IE suckssss! will never ever use again!!! havent tried g-chrome yet. I'm considering trying it though..

Safari has an average load time of 3 minutes per site. Bad for surfing the net. If you surf for an hour, then 40-45 minutes of it is loading websites. Firefox is okay faster than Safari. Anyone who says Safari is good must be lying out their asses. I shutter when I see a Safari icon on the apps list on my mac.

  • ema - 13 years ago

firefox is the best of all...

  • binoy - 13 years ago

I have used FF, IE8, Chrome, Opera, safari and some other lesser known browsers. As far my experience goes, its like this-
    1) Definitely the fastest. Beats any other browser by miles(Except Opera with turbo turned on but that makes the images unwatchable).Besides its simple design and large no. of themes makes it a good browser. Never crashes. Only downside is it doesn't support much add ons. Still its the best for both speed and user friendliness.
    2) Firefox- Used to be my favorite browser until chrome came. Very stable and a workhorse. Specially with the right add ons it is a delight to use. But speed is not that neck breaking.(although FF4 is a lot faster, but still lagging behind chrome.
    3) Opera- The most heavenly browser for mobile devices(Opera Mini and Opera Mobile). But failed to impress me much on the desktop. Although turbo browsing comes handy when on slow connections. Community is great and is a delight for users.
    4) Safari: So so. Nothing great or worst about it. Too big in size and memory hog. Usability is good.
    5) IE8- Unfortunately, it crashes once in 20 minutes(dunno why). Besides too cluttered and is indeed the slowest of them all. Use it in slow connection and you will never be able to open a heavy web page. Its something like an Ambassador Car. Too heavy and resource hungry. Therefore not advisable. Lets hope IE 9 and 10 are bettter.
For the others, nothing out of the box. So my winner is definitely chrome closely followed by Firefox.

  • karthiksri - 13 years ago

internet explorer is a best browser, which is basic browser . i like the browser.

  • Ruthvik - 13 years ago

Google Chrome is really amazing, next to it is firefox

  • Amila - 13 years ago

I found that Opera is so much better than any other browser. It has lot of features as well as has the Opera turbo feature to use in slow networks. I'm satisfied with its speed and I do not find much difference in its speed compared to fire fox or chrome. Also Opera provides faster navigation to previous viewed web pages when pressing back button. The new Opera browser has the private tab feature. So we do not need to clear cash or cookies when after using private tab feature. Those will be removed by the browser on its own. Also Opera provides the facility to store the user's profile details such as first name, last name, email address etc and when we navigates to a page where we require to fill those information, those will be automatically filled.

If you download torrents through Opera, it provides Opera's built in sharing (uploading and downloading) facility. You can choose either your torrent sharing software as bit torrent or if you do not have one, you can choose Opera's built in facility.

Most people tend to claim that fire fox or chrome is the best by judging their speed and memory / CPU usage. But I think those are not the only facts to be considered. If you use Opera for a while, you will see that it makes your life much easier.

  • solid - 13 years ago

Now I have Opera, Firefox, chrome, IE and CometBird. Safari did not work and now remove. IE is used for windows update only. Normally I use CometBird.

I am an Network Administrator and Socket Programmer for Linux, and has a pretty good opinion to use mozilla firefox as 80% of web server are UNIX LINUX console Based and basically uses Mozilla

    * Tabbed browsing, a faster alternative to multi-window browsing.
o When you open a link in a new tab, you can continue reading or clicking links in the original tab while the linked page loads.
o Unlike new browser windows, new tabs open instantly.
o You can quickly open a link in a new tab by Ctrl+clicking or middle-clicking the link.
o You can "undo" accidentally closing a tab.
    * Control. Firefox blocks unrequested pop-ups and never allows web pages to create hard-to-close full-screen windows. Firefox gives you options to prevent web sites from resizing and focusing windows.
    * Security. Malicious web sites can never install spyware without your permission. Wank in peace.
    * Privacy. Everything you might want to clear in order to cover your tracks -- cookies, cache, download history, history -- is in one place in Options. Firefox even provides a "Clear All" button to clear all of this information quickly.
    * Extensibility. The Pornzilla bookmarklets and extensions can improve your porn surfing experience far beyond what any browser vendor would dare.
    * New windows open quickly.
    * When you download a file and Firefox asks you to select a download filename and location, it starts downloading the file while it waits for your response.
    * You can save video clips quickly by Alt+clicking the (thumbnail) link to the video clip. If you save video clips this way, Firefox won't even prompt you for a filename (unless you select "Ask me where to save every file" in the "Downloads" section of Firefox's Options).
    * You can control whether videos are displayed in the browser window or saved in the "Downloads" section of Firefox's options.
    * File > Save As... works for movies being displayed by the Quicktime plug-in.
    * All visited URLs are shown in location bar autocomplete, so you can quickly see which galleries and which images you've seen within a given site.
    * While using Firefox, you won't accidentally set a porn image as your desktop wallpaper. (Firefox has a "set as wallpaper" feature, but it asks whether you want the image tiled or stretched, and the dialog has a "Cancel" button.)
    * Firefox has an image-rendering library called "libpr0n" and a cute, unofficial mascot named Firefox-ko. Firefox grew out the Mozilla Suite, whose codename is "Seamonkey" (see monkey). One of Mozilla's slogans is "free the lizard.

It is solely my opinion and my experience. Your opinions may differ..

  • Rjj Hategif - 14 years ago

Opera is the best Google Chrome and Safari are the next Flock Seamonkey and Firefox are same and the worst IE!!!!

  • Tony - 14 years ago

Firefox by far is the best, simply coz it's way faster. P.s I have them all installed on 5 different laptops. Same results! Firefox rocks.

  • Opera user - 14 years ago

I've tested most browsers out there. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but I gotta say that, for my needs, OPERA is the very best, though not perfect. I use it about 95% of the time, and sometimes I use Firefox for site compatibility and some of its extensions for specific tasks.

    Why Opera?
    - the fastest on my old machine, despite what Google pretends about Chrome;
    - lots of features *tightly integrated*;
    - the interface is very snappy;
    - fully customizable;
    - a mail client;
    - etc.

  • vishesh - 14 years ago

safari is the best because it download anything very fast.i like opera and google chrome also but safari is no.1

  • James - 14 years ago

    Simply:

If you will actually make use of all of Firefox's features then it is the best one for you

If you want a simple speedy browser then Google Chrome it is

If you want a minimalist browser then go for Opera

If you can't be bothered to download a different one then the default Internet Explorer is fine

If you are foolish enough to pay way too much for a Mac and think that it is in any way "good", then you deserve the scum that is Safari.

  • Experimenter - 14 years ago

I cant help thinking that microsoft have a team of people (perhaps recruited from the mental hospitals) who trawl the web forums (such as this one) pretenting to be satisfied customers as i simply refuse to believe that any right thinking person would vote for IE even at gun point

  • Experimenter - 14 years ago

IE is the least secure, has the worst popup blocker, can crash often, causes hell for the developers (who if they had any sense would stop supporting it completely).Ugly appearance and illogical layout and best of all isnt even standards compliant. IE7 is the least pathetic.
BY the way the only malware/ crapware on my system was IE itself!! in reply to the poster above
Mozilla is the best for web compatibility but eats up the whole computer unless its a very big one and in any case certain rumours sugest some versions contained spyware. Its layout is as illogical as IE but at least the page back/ forward butons works properly. Comet bird and flock are reasonable derivatives but again hungry and slow on my machines at least. For some srange reason Mozilla based browsers run better in Linux.
Safari. appears to be competing with IE for general uglyness.
Chrome beautiful and clean interface, fast loading but it can crash on certain installations as well as being only any good on xp sp2 or later. Linux users neednt bother at all.
Iron seems to be the same as chrome but for those who are neurotic and cant be bothered check out chromes pivacy settings properly. Not much good as it crashed like hell
Lunarscape Is a triple engined browser which means that no website is beyond your reach if a little complicated to set up properly and use. Again needs uptodate hardware to run properly.
Opera there are versions for practicly every OS of any importance including some mobiles etc and even nintendo ds has a very neat email and rss reader in it and some other clever and unique features built in as well on later versions. Has an interesting way of displaying the pages which means you can actually click on the links before it is fully loaded which is good on slow connections. VERY logical layout if not always as intuitive as say chrome. Uses its own rendering engine so means a small number of worthless sites cant be viewed properly but personally id rather change the site than the browser. Has a few very minor bugs but pale into insignificace when you see how quickly it can load pages. Popup blocker seems pretty good as well. If your escaping from IE and outlok later installation versions will even transfer some your settings and favorites to opera. So i vote for opera on an older (or any other) machine lunascape on a newer one and may consider a mozila based browser for linux if that spyware issue has been resolved.

  • ruthwik - 14 years ago

if u r an Indian try epic. all regional languages are available in it. it's cooooool

  • pethers - 14 years ago

Many people compare IE with other browsers but they aren't actually aware of what version of IE they have been using. IE6 was ok, but had a few issues - IE7 was better but seemed to have some problems over time - IE8 is waaay better than the previous two versions for speed, security and reliability. I find that most of the people who use Firefox have never used IE8 and they bag IE after only ever trying IE6/7.
The other thing is people move away from IE to Firefox because their IE has slowed down or stopped working - and the reason is often that they have installed multiple toolbars/malware addons(or been tricked into installing them as they were included with other free software).
How can you take any random persons opinion about browsers seriously if they don't have any idea about the reasons for their problems(often self inflicted) or any knowledge of how to fix/avoid these issues.
TYPICAL non-IT end user: I use Firefox because my mate told me its faster than IE.

Real educated and valued opinion - NOT

  • aeroland - 14 years ago

IE died so switched a year ago to Firefox. Over last two months Firefox died (continually freezes, can't log issue with them as their issue logging steps don't work - looking awfully like MS who also hides from their Customers). Tried downloading Firefox 4 beta but fails to run. Pity, I liked Firefox. IE now works again but slow and crashes and freezes occasionally. Now running google's "Chrome" which is fast, hasn't frozen or crashed. Also has some neat features.

  • Adam Umar - 14 years ago

Google Chrome is the Best followed by IE. I hate firefox bcoz it is VERY Slow

google chrome is best...no one can beat this browser...always ahead..try this..i had tried all among of these..this is much easier than all

  • radeon - 14 years ago

firefox is the best. It has more features than chrome. Although chrome is fast but firefox is a point behind it.
If firefox was also like chrome with less features then it would hav been way ahead of chrome.
Check the new version of firefox 4.0 releasing soon. Its like chrome.
    Opera 10.6 is also good.
Fastness of browsers depends upon ur broadband speed and also on which site u r opening. Try opening a site full of graphics. U wil noticf that even chromd wil appear slow.

  • Strongman332 - 14 years ago

ok i just got done trying google chrome for a day, and it is very fast. BUT google has put out rules as to what extensions can and cant do. for example my firefox does not close when i close the last tab. also i can download videos in Firefox. and less we for get chrome does not have a bookmarks drop-down menu also after modifying my about:config firefox is nearly as fast as chrome. so to nerd/geeks/hackers i recommend firefox, but to the average joeblow I have to say chrome.

and to people who love screen space. try hide menu bar, and hide gui bars. both are great extensions for Firefox. also rune Ubuntu net book-remix as your os. with Firefox open i only have 3 bars. in order

    1. os/window-manger (yes close button is on my task bar)

    2.navigation bar

    3. tab barf

Mozilla firefox stinks. Its always freezing up on me. Worst browser.

  • ph0n1x - 14 years ago

I recommend having more than one browser at your disposal (ESPECIALLY DEVELOPERS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!). My reasoning being that if a certain website happens to not support your favorite, have an alternative, some developers are extremely lazy. Websites act differently on different web browsers in most cases. For web developers, please stop this and test your sites on more than one browser, so have them all.

guys try the Google Chrome its awesome. I thought firefox is the best but when i discover Google Chrome its very fast and easy to use. I also try Apple Safari and Opera but Google Chrome is faster than the too. IE sucks! Try Google Chrome and you will be contented.

  • Jordan - 14 years ago

Firefox is the fastest I've seen. Apple Safari is great for security, but isn't as fast. I'm about to try Google Chrome. And for Internet Explorer, it is THE worst browser I've ever used. It's so much slower than the other browsers, it struggles to open any kind of flash game, and it might as well have a huge welcome sign to invite every virus out there.

  • amanda - 14 years ago

FIREOFXXXXXXXXXXXXX rocks it is the best

  • Weedman - 14 years ago

They all seriously SUCK. But like democracy, Chrome is the worst form or internet browser ever invented, except all of the others...

  • simplygood - 14 years ago

in my opinion i like firefox better. chrome is good too.
firefox = lots and lots of features, like abp that can block any annoying adds(specially evony for those who knows this ad) and wot that tells u if a link has a virus. and there a lot and lot more.but the download isnt that fast so i use dap. it goes like arround 800 kb/s and sometimes 1mb/s. i also like the themes. so in general ff is for security issue.
google chrome = i love this browser also. it is the fastest browser i have used and the easiest one too. there are themes and everything but not as much as ff.-no wonder y its called the easiest browser-
opera = the one thing i love about this browser is u have mouse gestures. where u can do stuffs like closing, openeing and other stuffs by mouse movements. and the looks and everything looks awsome. but i wouldnt say its the safest browser. its fast too
so in general, i would say they all have their own weakness. except IE. the worst browser in the world

  • OperaLove - 14 years ago

Opera 10.5 rocks ... its the fastest !! now better than Firefox and Chrome too ... check it out for yourself !!
