Anyone with just a little commom sense should realize that "enough is enough". They along with the current mayor created this mess. We would all be better of if they filed and all road off into the sunset, on the jackass of their choosing, never to be seen or heard from again.

This is totally irresponsible, the sewer project should have been orginally funded at the State level. If the commissioners that voted on spending $300,000 thousand dollars to pay a firm to lobby Washington for an "infurstructure" project, then they should have educated themselves. The new administration is not "lobby friendly. The funding for such projects are already included in the new stimulas package that the Obama administration has has place on the floor for a vote on 11/28/2009. Our Gov. should have expalined this to them and the tax payers.

Senator Bob Graham once told me that a little old lady in tennis shoes could garner more support than a lobbyist anyday because the cost to her in time and effort were enormous and gave weight to her words. If lobbyists are needed the commission should appoint citizens to carry their case to congress and pay the cost of the trip. There are many citizens who would volunteer for this task and do a better job as it is their lives, homes and money involved....no partying, spaing and padded expenses like the lobbyists feeding off the taxpayer.

How do we remove these commissioners who refuse to listen to the people who pay their inflated salary/expense accounts?

Absolutely a terrible waste of money. I appreciate our legislatures Davis and Baccus who verbalized not needed.

In the real world, cream rises to the top. In the Jefferson County Commission idiots rise to the top.

Are those three brain dead ?? The public said NO, both local congressmen told them it was a waste of money, and they STILL vote for it !! If you people of Jefferson County don't vote these worthless three out next election..you only have yourself to blame (I know it won't happen). Or, do like me..I moved to St Clair County (see Red Diamond) to get away from the madness !! Let's see..we own money we can't pay, we need to lay county workers off, so let's spend $950,000 to fix it..God help 'um.
