Or, people could be voting for who they prefer and who did the better job! Heath Ledger played the role exactly how the character is supposed to be played and is an amazing actor!
Or they could be simply voting for the best performace they have seen this year. There has been a lot of buzz this year about the Dark Knight but actually because of its genre ( superhero flick ) an Oscar is probably less likely but I'd love to see Ledger get it. His performance was amazing.
