I believe he will definitely attempt to fulfill his promises - whether he can achieve them all is doubtful. He has offered the world an opportunity - lets give him support as he now has to face the heavy weight of opposing forces.

HAHAHHA!! You poor people!! You actually think that this obama will be any different from the previous administrations??
lemme tell you something , bush's administration wasnt the only bad american administrations , but all the previous ones also , and obama's one wouldnt be much different , especially with the blind support to the israeli state .

If President Obama really genuinely and honestly believe that the Mid east problems should be sorted once and for all without being biased towards Israel he might achieve his visions. Also he should first ask himself why Israel should not give back all extra lands which they have stolen from the Palestinians. Palestinians did not come and occupy these lands, they were the inhabitants of these lands when jews were brought and dumped here by the British.

I can understand the cynicism that has been expressed, but it seems to me that this man is of a completely different mind-set compared with past major world leaders. I think the thing we can be sure about is that he will approach problem issues with a more open attitude, and will include reason and compassion in his deliberations. Yes, he may be hampered by entrenched attitudes and powerful, long-standing vested interests, but having read his two books I feel he's more than up to the challenge.

Ariadne, can you pls give the names of the 2 books by Obama. do u think he wll be fair to the palestinians? that is the root cause for world conflicts because USA always supported Israel even though every person even the dumbest person knew it was wrong.

Having read "Audacity of Hope" and watched the entire presidential inauguration and documentary on Barack Obama's life in Chicago, I think he will keep his election promises to the utmost of his ability and in the face of great challenges, and that after his term(s) of presidency, he will continue to keep these goals in all his future undertakings.

Barack Obama represents the basic 'goodness of humanity' and here we have a chance to move forward into a better world. There is always hope! Love must prevail!
