    If using range finders and GPS speeds up the play of dithering idiots then I am all for it. For most players it will make no difference. Its hard enough to hit the ball where you want to start with.

    The player still has to play the shot. Having a device that gives you the yardage is no different than having a Strokesaver.
    Your poll question states that a local rule may forbid the use of measuring devices in comps. I think you will find that a local rule may allow and not forbid the use.
