I think we will do better, because of the new goalie, not necessarily because Beach got traded. I am very impressed with Heemskirk, he is quick, and agile. I haven't seen this since Irving and Wall!
I say better for a number of reasons. A hot goaltender can carry you through the playoffs. Rarely can 1 hot-headed forward carry you (unless his name is Brule). Too many times during Beach's career, he took bad penalties at the most inopportune times. (See playoff series against Spokane last year.)
Additionally, often times in sports teams tend to gel and play better as a "team" when they lose a star player. Role players are no longer trying to feed the puck to a star player and guys aren't waiting around for 1 guy to make a play.
Bottom line is, outside of the first round, the Tips will be overmatched against anyone they play (Spokane, Tri-Cities, or Vancouver) with or without Beach.
