I am a full time working mother or soon to be two! I work at a fantastic company that allows me to bring my son in each day, since he was six weeks old. I have an incredibly supportive husband who also has a flex-schedule, and so we are able to share our time at the office and time at home, to make sure our little one has maximum attention. We are having our second in April. Hubby is looking for a new job, but in the chance that this doesnt happen before then, I will be doing a lot more work from home, and bringing the new baby to work with me, while he works frlom home/brings the toddler with him. Requires a lot of communication and flexibility, and is a great blessing from God while we are struggling with money!

I work two days a week for pay and three days a week as a volunteer in a leadership position. So I am away from home fulltime but only paid part-time. Kids are school-age or older.

I am a full time graduate student...praying to one day become a mother. I love the website, and find it relaxing, and inspirational to read even though I am not a mother yet! God Bless!

I stay home full time but I homeschool...so I have many "jobs" here right at home.

I've been a full time stay-at-home mom for 6 years, but the financial crunch is worsening. To the 11 or so responders who work from home, I would love to know what area/ line of work you are in that allows you to do this. Thanks for any response!

To sweetadelheide --

I work parttime from home doing a combination of things. I do research 15 hours/week for a marketing company, analyzing articles they email me. My supervisor works from home in Texas and the company's in DC and I'm in MN. I work most evenings a couple hours and more on the weekends when my husband's home. I got the job through my BIL, who also works for them.

I also knit and sell things online (but the money isn't great).

I also watch my friend's daughter 2 days/week.

It's disturbingly close to full time when I add everything up, but none of them take time away from my kids.

Over the past few years, I've done consulting gigs for my pre-children boss, but the economy has kept that from happening for the past year. That paid 3 times what the marketing company pays and allowed me to work for the summer rather than year-round (my husband teaches so one of us was always home with the kids).

Well, I always like to take the quizzes, so I am one of those who works from home part time. We home school the kids, which allows me to have babysitters on hand when I need to get in a conference call, or look over faxed pages, respond to emails or very occasionally, go into the office for a meeting. I also usually schedule Faith & Family related work two nights a week.

I also wear many hats: I home school 2 children, help my husband run our cabinet company and I took on Silpada Jewelry doing home shows to bring in extra money during this financial crunch. Right now we just keeping asking God where He wants us because what we offer is considered a luxury item. We'll see what He has in store.

My husband and I are full-time graduate students and we trade-off taking care of our 7-month old son. We also both work part time from home for our previous employers (consulting), which helps with the cash flow. I'm very busy, but we make it work.

I am a full time SAHM, but I also am going to school part time right now (although last semester I went full time with two girls under two! but, that was way too much for me as a wife and a mother). Hopefully I will only have the fall semester left. With two children in two years, our NFP family goal is no baby in 2009! :) Which isnt really a lofty 'goal' at all. :)

I am a 52 year old mother of three. I stayed home with my children from the day my first child was born in 1982. They are 26, 23, and 21 so now I am a stay at home wife. This is why I chose "other" instead of "stay at home mom."

Am physically disabled. Therefore, although I am home as much as a full-time mom and don't work outside of the home, it is hard to consider myself a full-time mom in that I don't do minimumly what I'd do as a mom if I were fully capable.

I teach two days per week at a hybrid school: the students are in school two days and are homeschooled three days per week. I can bring my baby and pre-schooler with me for the day, so their never more than a few hundred yards form mom! I do my lesson plans and reading at home while they nap. It's wonderful!
