We proved again that we are lousy after a bye. The game after the regular season bye was lousy and so was this one. Coach Fox needs to recognize that and prepare the guys for that.

Personnel change are needed! Get rid of that Steve Smith jerk, he could not get open Saturday night and most of the games during the end of our season. When Jake threw him the ball he couldn't make one of those supposed fantastic catches that everyone talks about. Saturday night, Larry Fitzgerald shown that he was the superior receiver over Steve.

"Bam, Pow, Kabloom" ah man Steve Smith just sucker punched me again!

Just a bunch of of overachievers.Thank you Arizona Cardinals for sending chief thug Steve Smith and the Panthers packing. One other thing...Why waste time on a John Fox press conference? Just tape the very first one and the only thing you have to do is play after every game and you'll hear the same old storyline.

I agree with you Linda on the bye weeks. I am not sure if we have that feeling of invincibility during the season. At the first bye we were 6 wins and 2 losses and went out to Oakland and struggled with them but got the win. We sort of struggled with Detroit, a team that was 0 and 16 but we got the win.

Still we need to look at key positions of where we excelled at times and where we have an achilles heel. A lot of the plays we run are quite stale, but I think that Coach Fox and company mixed that up with the running combo team of Williams and Stewart. They really compliment each other and the team!

Again we have the children that talk smack about players like the entry just after Linda's from Ken Lucas trash talkin' on Steve Smith. If you want to talk smack try and do it correctly. Steve could have more opportunities to be open and catch a pass thrown to him, if he was not double covered. So with that said the other teams know what kind of threat he can be! I feel that he could sell the run alittle more, not get to upset when he does not get thrown too until the 2nd quarter. He does show his temper alittle more than I or maybe most fans would like.
Moose is a good compliment in the receiver position along with Dwayne Jarrett and D J Hackett

See you don't have to talk trash, you can criticize a person or team without the trash talking.

I will probably make people mad that only concern themselves with the positive aspects of any team just because they cheer for their team no matter how rotten they may be. The facts bare that the Panthers though 12-5 have many issues and will are most likely a one hit wonder as they were in 2004. That being said, most NFC teams are that way anyway. There has not been a consistent NFC winner in years. The AFC is much better with likes of New England, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, even expansion team Baltimore is more consistent. Now to the Panthers. Start at the top. Fox needs to go. I'm tired of lack of motivation of his players especially after a bye. He is so hard headed with his style of play. Slow, methotical, playing not to lose rather than win. Settle for field goals instead of trying for touchdows. Keep the game close and have a chance maybe to win in the end if you are lucky. His play calling is so predictable, that the entire viewing audience can guess the play.
In the 3 of 4 road losses, the game was similar to Saturday night, over at half time. Look to next year. We have no first round draft pick as we used it up this year to save Fox's job. The Panther offense is ok Fox needs to butt out of the play calling and allow Jeff Davidson to do his job. Jake is an a B- quarterback. He throws into double coverage constantly. He throws up prayers in the hope that Steve Smith can run under it. Good teams have better conbacks and know that. The offense needs to use the Tigh-ends more. The defense is horrible. Our conerbacks get beat deep consistently. Lucas is the most overpaid defensive player in the league. The safety is nowhere to be fournd. The linebackers play too soft, arriving well after the receiver has already caught the ball. If Peppers is still here, he would be better suited to rush the quarterback instead of going into pass coverage. The Panthers have 0 pass rush unless they bitz. Then, it is one on one coverage and the receivers are off to the races. We cannot stop the run. Even bad teams can run up to 300 yards rushing per game. In the end, the biggest problem is the coaching. Fox has not had winning back to back seasons since he got here. His players lack motivation and play uninspired. They should have lost to the Chargers, Detriot (the worst team in the league), Oakland, Chaicago. He was once quoted as saying, " A punt is not a bad play". To, me, a punt is the worst play you could make because you are giving the other team the ball. That statment was made after 3 straight running plays in a loss to the Giants. To make it back to the titlle game, you must have luck the Panthers had this year, and play well. It has been for years since we went to the Super Bowl and will likely with this group, be another four years to have a chance to get back to a realistic chance at the NFC title game.

I watched all the NFL games over the weekend and I was unable to pinpoint exactly what I thought about the Panther performance. After watching the Ravens and Steelers I finally came to the realization the difference between the winners and the losers was determination and quickness, especially the defensive teams. How Mr Richardsons decides the correct or ignore this I don't know but I am glad I do not have tickets.

I'm a Steeler fan living and rooting for the Panthers in Charlotte, and one thing I definetely notice is that the fan base is definetely different here than in Pittsburgh. Steeler fans love the Steelers and stay the whole game because we love them from our heart and soul. They are our team.....and you just don't get that feeling in Charlotte. Maybe it takes generations of good and bad times to become a heart and soul team. Hope it happens here some time, because it feels good to love 'em no matter what.

I think the Panthers proved last year that we cannot do without Jack Delhomme. If they hadn't had this "bad day" on Saturday and instead won the game, everyone would be praising John Fox as well as Jack Delhomme. This team works amazingly well together, which is why we had an amazing season and made it to the playoffs. I'm often critical of John Fox and feels he "plays it safe" once he gets a lead, however what John does with the players off the field is where I feel he excels. The Panthers are very much involved in the community and Coach Fox never attempts to hide problems with the team. He handles them very professionally. (Read Saturday morning's article in the Charlotte Observer called "How the Season was Saved").

Leave the team alone for another year. it's a winning combination assuming no one has a "bad day".

Bye weeks are not good for the Panthers. Knowing that the Panthers had a bye before the game was a sign that they would not do well
