While I got this answer correct from the topic of the radio cast, I disagree that ALL children should be taking a supplement. If parents (and Americans for that matter) ate proper nutrition and knew the facts about how to make sure to be getting enough of these important nutrients, there would be no need to take a daily supplement. However, I also think the recommendation of 4 glasses of milk a day is OUTRAGEOUS! A little sunlight will not give you skin cancer- in fact, in some cases sunscreen can cause cancer. So the moral of the story is that the earth provides us everything we need to survive- our ancestors didn't take vitamin D supplements or drink 4 glasses of milk a day and I think health-wise they were probably a lot better off than a lot of us today! So listen to your great-great-great- grandmother, not your grandmother on this one :)
