I'm always interested in becoming a better writer, but I also love learning how to be a better author. I like learning what you think, what your pet peeves are, and some tricks of the business. I like that, as I write and re-write and edit and polish my way to being a better writer, I can pay attention to your advice and funny adventures to learn how to be a better author--hopefully without making too many n00b mistakes!
Thanks, Janet. Hi to the asssssistant for me, hope she's holding up OK in this nasty weather.

I'm a writer/producer who, when surfing the web for publishing info, came across your site. Your common-sense observations and sincere-hardly-ever-snarkastic advice is refreshing, so I've stuck around.

met you at SiWC, you talked about google reader, I'm hooked... I also queried you and got rejected but I'm still enjoying the blogs and using them to keep learning.

Yours is one of a few agent blogs I read regularly. Makes me wish I liked to drink.

I'm a writer, and in my search I came across FPL and your blog. Informative, entertaining, and you update regularly. Those three things keep me reading. Thanks for all you do on giving us the ins and outs...it helps.

It's been great learning about all the pet peeves in the biz. Thanks! So far I've learned: Don't complain when I need to help market my book; don't fret or complain if it takes you a while to read my work; easy on the adverbs (for the love of God!); and chocolate is very important if you ever want to get published. ;-)
