Vent Meiser: Pass or Fail?

Each product is designed for certain uses. 18 degree can be perfect for you but it may be too hot for your sister in the next room or too cold for your brother in another room.
It's always difficult to adjust to each one's comfort, particularly in an old existing central heating/cooling system.
Instead of turning up the heat in meeting your brother's comfort and everyone-else having windows open, you and your sister just simply adjust down the Vent-Miser to each comfort. Then more heat goes to your brother room.
The result: all are more comfortable and save money w/o going through a major, costly renovation to the existing system.
It serves its purpose. I liked it so much, I bought many. If you still want it Suezq contact me at tlyanywhere@gmail.com

Have been looking for something like this, but can not find a vendor. My concern is the size since vent registers vary. I agree with Hansen, due to high ceilings and my age, getting a ladder is cumbersome. Also, I live in the south where it can be 80 degrees one day and drop to 40 overnight. We constantly switch from a.c. to heat. This vent would help make rooms more comfortable based on individual preferences. Some like warm bedrooms, others like it cooler. Please tell me where to buy this product!

I will give it a try for the simple reason that we have vaulted ceilings and want to be able to turn specific vents on or off. One example is that my wife has a room where she spends most of her times. She does not like the heat on her in the winter, by wants to fully enjoy the air conditioning in the summer. To change the vent in her room, we have to bring in a six-foot step ladder twice a year. If the vent-miser takes that burden off two people in their seventies, then it is worth every penny.

Actually, I've used the product and think it's terrific! I'm actually a little annoyed at the way the question is skewed. Actually, I use the vent miser in my kids rooms so that the heat and air are automatically cut off when they go to school, and to think that someone will go into their room as they leave and come back a half hour before they return is ludicrous.

If someone wants to cut off the vent in a guest bedroom, this isn't the product for the. The poser of the question simply doesn't understand the product.

This is an excellent, par-brilliant product!

We've cut our energy costs 30% + already by installing a programmable thermostat to only heat the house during the hours that we are home and active. (morn & evening)
Our final predicament is in heat distribution. Adjusting vent flow can be very delicate to balance the rooms in the house and to individuals.
If I could heat only the upstairs (bedrooms) at night, and cut off rooms that aren't in use during the day, we'd be heating half the space. Simple as that.
Of course your thermostat needs to be programmed to adjust for the heat redistrbution, in order to avoid over heating if nearby rooms are shut off, but ultimately, the ability to program not only the time and temperature, but also the zones/rooms leads to much more efficient heating.
6 or 7 of these are worth the efficiency of a brand new furnace at 1/50th the cost!
