I did not see the ones I would have voted for if listed. They are Seabreeze and Sandgates. They both have good seafood and a good atmosphere.....

The best seafood in southern MD is Jerry's, in Calvert next to Mr. Tire on rt. 4 where Berts used to be. His crabcakes can also be found at Len's Marina in Broomes Island. If its not the best crabcake you have ever had I will buy it. Tell Jerry Trina sent you.

Took EZG's advice, and I'm glad I did. Great atmosphere, outstanding wine list, and breathtaking food. What else could one ask for?

Try the oyster stew and soft crab sandwich at Leonard Copsey's Seafood in New Market; go out to Quades Store at Bushwood and the crabcake is great; the cream of crab soup at Capt. Leonard's is terrific; the oyster stew at Capt. John's at Cobb Island is really great and full of oysters...nothing beats getting a fresh rockfish sandwich at Thompson's Seafood in Mechanicsville and his son Kevin's Cafe in Leonardtown has really good lunches, try the specials. The key is to stay away from the chain outfits and eat where the owner actually runs the place.

Captain Leonards in St. Mary's county is the best there is. I lived in Maryland for many years and have been to every seafood restaurant in the area. They have the best steamed crabs, fried oysters and soft shell crabs, the service is the best, especially Shirley's service. Each trip back to Maryland takes me to Captain Leonards. Captain John's in Cobb Island has one of the best crab imperial in the area. Since relocating to Central Florida 5 years ago there are no seafood restaurants that can hold a candle to those in Maryland. How I miss it all.
