snohomish co did some snow removal on our st. once the whole time, that blocked us completly.Marysville did nothing to clear state st ! What a wake up to how prepared these people are to handle a small problem. They could have at least rented a skip loader and cleared state st,oh thats right they have no money for things like this ,they all need to take a pay cut starting with the mayor!!!!
I realize city & county personnel worked round the clock -- but could have fooled me! Smokey Point Blvd & the intersection of 172 was UNBELIEVABLE!
On Tuesday 12/23 -- the ruts of ice were at least 15-18 inches deep -- making for a bone jarring, unsafe route. Just as bad on State Street! Won't even mention side streets. Guess officials believe that citizens only travel I-5. Problem is--how were we supposed to get from our homes to I-5? I keep hearing that this was an unprecedented amount of snow --- but since I moved here in 1990 --- I can recall at least 4 instances when we have had at least 12 - 18 inches of snow. Our weather is changing & our officials need to realize that & make provisions. Maybe they need to copy some of the tactics that east coast cities employ. Waiting for warm weather & rain is NOT AN EFFECTIVE SNOW REMOVAL TECHNIQUE!
The WORKERS themselves deserve the highest of praise! The USELESS "powers that be" sat back and watched the misery from the comfort of their easy chairs! I wonder, do they even realize there IS a place called Smokey Pt? HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!!! We exist and you completely ignored all of us who need this thoroughfare to get to and from anywhere! SHAME ON YOU!!!
