Should the police officers who assaulted Dymond Milburn be prosecuted?

Yes, what they did is certainly a crime

No, the officers were only doing their job

Forget prosecution, a fat lawsuit should do the job by itself

The officers should be given a medal. She'll turn out to be a prostitute eventually. They were thinking ahead.

These thugs should be fired, strpped of pensions, and broom handle raped by the girls parents. What a despicable police state we have become. If the aforementioned punishment is too inhumane for the leftists among us a public hanging should suffice. Badge = authority= responsibility. Violate it and pay with you life! PIGS!

I think it is awfully close to the point that those who wear a badge, openly or not, commit as many crimes as the general populace. They are, of course, prosecuted at a far lesser degree then the rest of us. Many a criminal activity takes place under the guise of the pursuit of "justice". Plus the lawmakers continue to make so many things illegal, it becomes almost impossible for the average citizen to avoid becoming a criminal. A look at the stacks and piles of laws and ordinances forbidding anything from smoking a cigarette in a certain place to letting your animal shit where it wants, makes you a lawbreaker. You know , there are only so many jail cells available. Let's push these overzealous louts and see how many they can lock up without looking like the fools that they are!

well cyrus, you just illustrated why certain gene pools will never evolve past stupid...

those cops were not only illiterate, but sadistic--- if that is 'protecting the public good' , then policy and procedure and psych assessments need to be updated and cops asses booted and prosecuted...

Cyrus - you're an excellent reason for retro abortion. I take it you've come to your conclusion based on.........color? Your kind are in the majority of reasons why the rest of the world has a hard time respecting America, too bad the bad apples remain to cause so much rot to the rest of the country.

Of course they should be prosecuted, for very serious felonies - attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and malicious prosecution, of course, but perhaps also a federal hate crime (if the child was targeted due to her race) and a state charge of sexual battery, depending on the extent of their groping. I'm sure there are many inmates in the Texas prison system who would go out of their way to welcome these nice fellows - showing them a little appreciation for how it feels to take a beating or a bit more from a huge man.

Prescription: Prosecute the uneducated thugs and their bosses on criminal charges, AND sue them (including the bosses) for at least two million dollars in a civil court, AND disband the local Keystone Kops farce and the local so-called "justice" system, put the police district and the so-called "justice" district under _federal_ control (who would trust a _state_ that has allowed the scandal to fester so long?), AND delay reversion to local control till totally new leadership and other ranks have been found by vetting and choosing talent from around the nation. Anyway, what's the so-called "justice" system doing allowing the trying of a _child_ not only in an _open court_ but in one whose public gallery is lined with police officers? Are you there, Alice?

They attempted to arrest someone who wasn't even close to the descriptions they had, so any legal protection they had there is gone. They severely beat a 12 year old unarmed girl, which is NEVER necessary (or for that matter, excusable) in the course of police work. And the fact that she was screaming 'Daddy! Daddy!' should have been a tipoff that they had the wrong girl even if they had had any sane reason to believe she was a prostitute. Seriously, if only prostitutes wear tight shorts then 90% of high school girls in this town are selling their bodies.
