Will you buy the new stevia sweetened drinks?

Considering that people shouldn't even be drinking coke in the first place, i don't beleive that the stevia band-aid that coke is trying to use is worth much at all. Personally, I only give my dollars to companies that I know for sure have completely environmentally and socially responsible practices. This latest ploy with Stevia is nothing more than a marketing push to get people who claim to be interested in health foods. I have personally spoked with Coke corporation admins who are in charge of "coke's sustainability program" and nothing at Coke is motivated by intrinsic altruistic values: it is all motivated by profit. Coke only wants more money. So what we as responsible citizens need to do is go to the tap for some water if you are thirsty and go eat some real foods (pretty much plants) if you are hungry. Do continue to fund Coke's not very genuine "sustainability and health" campaigns with your dollars. Because this country (and now the world thanks to globalization) is based so deeply on capitalism and market forces, voting with your dollars is MUCH more effective and efficient than voting with your ballot (even though that is important too). Business and markets can change much more rapidly than any government can if consumers begin to make huge changes in the way they vote with the dollars. So instead of voting for Coke in all of their fakeness, go out and vote for a local, organic, vegan bakery; or vote for a company that makes reusable water bottles; or vote for a nice thrift store in buying reused clothing instead of sweatshop non-organic crap; or vote for any other company that understands global issues and is truly committed to working to create real change.

I have used Stevia to sweeten my coffee, tea, baked goods, etc. for 3 or 4 years. I think it is quite a delightful sweetener and perfectly safe. Despite that, I WILL NOT buy Coca Cola's new drinks...I do not buy Coke products and I also bemoan the fact that they are beginning to use Stevia. What will the increased production do to the purity of the Stevia crop?...I envision fields of mono-cultured Stevia, fertilized with petroleum based products, etc....you get the picture. I say boycott Coke!
