2004 Sony KD-34XBR960, the king of CRT HD!

CRT's for the vast majority are non high def (Yes Sony did make xbr tubes and there were a few others but most of these companies stopped producing them long ago.) I've worked in consumer Electronics for well over 10 years and haven't heard a peep about HD CRT's in at least three or four years.

I do think that the lack of CRT Projection is a little crappy though. They have been around long enough and are affordable enough to be a large chunk of the percentage.

    OLED and Mitsubishi's Laser set?

The OLED is priced wa out of any person with a fair degree of common sense would ever pay

The Laser TV's are a new form of DLP. In that case we should be much more specific and have. DLP,SXRD,HDIL,LCOS (I know the last three are the same but let's keep them in for sake of argument.) as well as led back lit LCD's.

I think the poll is pretty decent right now if you are going to go out and buy a HD set you are (for 99%) buying one of three types of TV's. A Rear projection that uses a micro engine such as DLP,LCD or Plasma.

And I can completly believe that LCD's have roughly 50% of the market share. When you look at the number of products being put out by the big companies. (Sony or Samsung's 18 different series......do you want a 4,5,6 or 7 series?) and consider the plethora of sizes (32 through 70 now.) as well as the massive advertising and propaganda against plasma it makes complete sense.

In a given week I travel to 20 consumer electronics retailers and all the consumers are asking for is LCD. Does that mean that it is a better product? no there is just more of it.

I took it to mean CRT HDTV... I have a CRT standard def TV but didn't mark it down for this poll (LCD and DLP for me)

Okay, are there really this many people that own LCDs but not CRTs? I find it impossible there are so many people without CRTs...

And where are OLEDs? And Mitsubishi Laser TVs?

    This is lacking.
