My favorite was a Mouse system with a roller on it that was about .5 inches wide.

Kensington Thinking Mouse. I used the same mouse (ADB, no less) for over 8 years on 3 computers. I wanted to cry when it finally died.

Microsoft Mice for me. The price is right, the things are nearly indestructible and I get great battery life out of them. I've had 4 Microsoft mice over the past 10 years, 2 of which are still in operation.
I know Logitech has improved since the 90's but the only mice of theirs that I feel comfortable with cost 5 times as much as a regular Microsoft mouse.

I've always had a soft spot for the Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical. I don't know what I'm going to do with it breaks...

Dang it! I did the same thing Tim did, I voted wrong. I'm using a Logitech Trackball. I voted Logitech, but I meant trackball.

What about the "eraser head" from the (most recently) Dell and IBM notebooks? If trackballs count, so should these!
Evoluent Ergomouse for lyfe.
I am using the Logitech MX 500 right this very moment. :)
By far the best,
TRACKBALLS UNITE!
