Do Christian views benefit advancing efforts in the Middle East?

The opinion expressed by Mike Rhodes is just that, an opinion. His highly emotional piece is not backed up by factual evidence, but merely by popular uneducated public opinion gleaned from the liberal media. Mr Bush was inspired to have troops enter Iraq because of military intelligence. Most legislators, including leading Democrats, agreed that the intelligence was totally factual, and based upon that intelligence, endorsed his decision to send in troops. In absence of the weapons reported about by the military, the war evolved into one about a madman who was killing his own people. The madman was taken out, and the people of that country are now free from the oppression under which they lived. Such is the action any caring and loving people should take when innocent people are being slaughtered.

Death in war is unfortunate but unavoidable. The alternative to this war would have been even greater numbers of Americans lost to the actions of he fanatical religious zealots who inhabit the gulf regions. Since 2001, President Bush has kept us safe from invasions by anyone from that area of the world. How many more 9-11s do we need before people such as Mr Rhodes understand that these people don't like us and intend to kill us? They place no value even upon their own lives, so why would they care about us, as enemies to their false beliefs?

That the war has thus far cost was it has is also unfortunate, but the current economic conditions aren't all due to the costs of defense. The root causes for current conditions had their basis back in the 80s when Pres Carter loosened the reins on credit practices for home loans. Pres Clinton then turned up the heat on banks to see that those questionable practices would be expanded to include as customers almost anyone who had a pulse. Now that the house of cards has come down, it's become convenient to blame Bush, who ironically warned them that it would happen! Check out the facts of record Mr Rhodes. Your opinion is DEAD WRONG.
