the only thing the 7-litre had going for in that the t-bird did not is the four speed trans. don't get me wrong i wouldn't throw rocks at either one of them. im a ford man through and through. i respect anyone trying to save any of this old iron. be it mopar, gm or ford.
I'm not any sort of Ford guru, but I don't think Ford offered the 427 in the T-Bird or an automatic in any car ordered with a 427. Also, the 427 was an option in the 7Litre. In terms of investment, there were only 2 4 speed convt' 7Litres ever built and they are still around. They're worth in the high 5 digits. I'm not sure how many hardtops were built with the 427, but their worth is probably quite high also. I'm not knocking the T-Birds. The T-birds were one of the classiest cars ever built, especially with the wrap arond driver's compartment. But to me the 7Litre will always be a car that offered both a classy look and some good old American muscle.
