I truly hope that Kirsten wins. I am not a Democrat and I do not always agree with her, but I feel she brings a lot to the show and the discussions. I have always enjoyed watching her when she replaced Alan. Go Kirsten!!!!
I truly hope that Kirsten does not win. She's too closed to conservative views, overall. Also, I do not feel as though she is a strong enough commentator to sit opposite Hannity long-term. He needs someone stronger and more established to make the formula work.
Susan Estrich would be perfect, or Juan Williams, the NPR guy. They both can present their viewpoint without being rabid.
I think there is some good chemistry between Beckel and Hannity. The guy could laugh or smile a bit more but that's what you expect from a liberal. I think Sean takes it easy on Powers, maybe just because she is a fill-in.
I like Harold Ford Jr. I am not a liberal, but I respect him and his ability to defend his postions.

I really hope that it's not Kirsten. I find her boring to watch and she seems contemptous of intelligent women who don't agree with her. She also doesn't seem to understand the inner workings of her own party. Bob Beckel is the one that is usually right. I like the sparring between Beckel and Hannity. They seem to be able to disagree in a civil manner. Plus they seem to really respect each other.
I have watched this show for years (I even tivo it incase I miss a day). I don't see that continuing if Kirsten is put on as a regular.
If this is to try to get the female viewers, don't bother. I would much rather have Beckel OR just put Hannity on by himself. That would be great too.

I have always appreciated Kirsten. I may not agree a lot of the time but at least she is reasonable on some issues and does more than hold the daily Democrat talking points in one hand and recite the daily mantra regardless of issue. She would be a 1000% improvement over Colmes.

I think Ellis Henican is an effective foil. I never agree with him, but he's a strong debater. I believe Fox needs Hannity to have a partner on the show to continue to argue 'balanced' points of view...Hannity is surely a strong personality.

I have enjoyed the debate between the two of you through the years and certainly his presence on the show will be missed. As a Obama-Republican, I believe it will be in the best interest of your format to have someone beside you that will maintain the balance, someone who is an equal, someone that those who are more liberal would respect. It is a shame that Keith from MSNBC or Rachel is not available, they would be great! I voted for Reagan in 1980 and voted Republican in every election since that time until 2008. I believe that Conservatives need a "make-over" and to reinvent themselves in a new and fresh package for voters as a viable alternative. I respected the service of McCain, but thought that if we were paying for a "liberal-moderate" we should get the "real thing" in Obama. He is our President and we must respect the office and be as supportive as we can be and to disagree respectfully when we need to.
Kirsten Powers is the obvious choice. Beckell is a blow hard. Kirsten is intellegent, rational, reasonable, and professional - and she's much better looking than Colmes and Beckel. Furthermore, I think she has earned the post over the years by demonstrating her ability to have a serious debate without screaming, yelling, and interruptions.

Franken would never do it unless he was guaranteed equal time and equal guest booking rights. Hannity is WAY too insecure to ever allow the liberal side to have equal time or guests. Colmes was never permitted equal time or guest booking equality, nor would any new liberal foil.
I very much doubt Fox will choose anyone. I just can't see them risking a non-pushover in that role. If they do decide to actually replace Colmes, they'll only do so if then can find another weak willed, milquetoast "liberal" like Colmes.
Hannity doesn't have the stones to up go against an Ed Schultz or Al Franken, night after night. They'd call his lies too often and too strenuously. Only Hannity is allowed to do that on his show.

Someone earlier mentioned Ellis Henican - he actually would be very good if he were interested. He knows his stuff. Harold Ford Jr. is a real classy guy. I'm from his home town in Memphis and I met him several times when he came out to support the local Children's Hospital.

As a conservative republican I watch Hannity and Colmes to hear Hannity mosty, but it is the liberal side brought in to the show that makes Hannity shine and to let us know what is the real truth of the matter . Hannity breaks it down and shows what the problems are really all about and where were America is going if we continue on the way we are going. Colmes when he gets a question rants on the guests until they can't answer and then it goes to a break so I'm glad he is leaving. I vote for Kirsten. She one of the very few liberals that still appear capable of independent thought and intelligent debating instead of simply reading prepared talking points off a sheet of paper regardless of what the guest is trying to say, as Alan would usually do.
I, for one, have had enough of listening to angry liberal koolaid drinkers over the past 8 years, and would welcome a thoughtful exchange of ideas, instead of listening to a liberal and a conservative shout talking points at each other.
And she is also easy on the eyes.
James Carville would be good, he has a sense of humor and can stomach conservatives since his wife Mary Matilyn is a famous conservative. Donna Brazille may be an option and give the show some interesting moments. Juan Williams is another good suggestion but I would miss his availibility on other fox shows as a contributor (Juan is balanced and if he see's liberals making mistakes he admits it! Gotta repect that). Kirsten Powers is okay, not a bad choice, I'd still watch and enjoy the show. Ellis Henican is another good choice except he never admits when the Dem's do anything wrong which is annoying. I do like Harold Ford Jr., but he may not be spicy enough to excite viewers and he is a democrat operative so he may not be willing to admit when the dem's are wrong on something.

First of all, Alan was fantastic. I like him because he obviously isn't a radical, and he has a great sense of humor (loved the bit he did pretending Alec Baldwin's voicemail to his daughter was left for him). I didn't see Juan Williams on the list, but feel either he or Kirsten would be great. Both will be honest and will admit when the left is wrong. Kirsten is hot however, so she edges out Mr. Williams.
On the conservative front, I would love to see more of Kate Obenshain on the show. She just oozes beauty and grace and is incredibly intelligent. In any case, God Bless Sean Hannity. He is a national treasure!

Best choice for a replacement for Alan Colmes: Dick Morris.
Sean Hannity needs top talent on the show and what better co-host than his best guest ever, Dick Morris. Ann Coulter should have at least a weekly spot on the show, and my guess is, she will need it because Obama is good for at least one superstar Coulter book per year. Sean, I respect your friendship with Alan but in my opinion you have carried him for twelve years and in two months he will become "Alan Who?" Alan isn't in the same league as you.
Second choice would be Mark Levin, because a good way to "balance" a nice conservative like Sean would be with a mean conservative like Mark. The best answer to Marx & Lenin is Mark Levin. Conservatives should feel better knowing that not only will Hannity & Levin win the debate with the liberal, but who knows, maybe there's a chance of an altercation in the parking lot. Go get 'em!

I've been watching Hannity and Colmes for the past 2 years, and I really don't want to see Alan leave. In my opinion he can't be replaced. I've given a lot of thought, and I believe he should pick Roland S Martin. The next four year of the adminstration is going to be tough, and will cause a lot of criticism, maybe so, and will need someone who is able to speak as openly as possible. Even though we don't want to speak about it, race will be a factor in this administration, and it is best served up raw, not sugar coated. Roland's intermittent appearances on the "other" chanel, showed him to be a smart, passionate, quick witted person, and will give as good as he gets. That kind of exchange would make Hannity's show very exciting to watch, and we would all learn from it. TAKE A CHANCE, BE A TRAILBLAZER!!!

I'd rather see Hannity by himself with a variety of guests. Frankly, I have been watching less recently because I am put off by the constant talk over. If they cannot be polite and let one person at a time speak, I'll just tune it out. It is more than just mildly annoying. If they don't stop, I think Hannity should just mute their microphone or cut them off the air.

I suggest that Hannity goes it alone and reduce the show to 10 minutes.
On a monitor behind him he can have the list of talking points he would be pushing for that evening's show. As a result he would not have to keep repeating them over and over again. His viewers could just jot them down and refresh their memory on what they are supposed to be thinking on a given issue.

Thank goodness Alan Colmes is finally leaving!! I have watched H&C despite his participation in the show, and hope you don't replace him with someone who is equally as willing to do nothing more than read liberal talking points. My vote is for a different liberal guest each night. However, if you decide that you must have a permanent co-host, I think Susan Estrich would be a good match.
I also think that James Carvelle would be a good choice to replace Allen. He can hold his own with most anyone from what I have seen and a strong replacement will be a must, if not Sean may as well go solo.
Sean should pick a co-host that can make a good strong case for the "liberal" side of the argument. Three people come to mind, Kristen Powers, Susan Estrich and Juan Williams; they are very intelligent, there is some middle ground that they might be able to find with Sean, they have been on his show and are familiar to Fox News watchers. I think some very poor choices would be James Carville, Bob Beckel, Ellis Henican or Al Franken. Carville is too hyperactive, Beckel and Ellis are too condensending and Franken is an idiot. For the record, I WILL NOT WATCH IF YOU PICK MARC LAMONT HILL, HANNITY! Tell O'Reilly I turn off his show every time Marc shows up. I think Kirsten Powers is one of the most balanced liberals on TV. She is not the usual angry cheapshotter that so many of them are. She seems to have fair views, although I disagree with her most of the time. I think the chemistry would be good.

I think Sean could do well on his own. I also did not really like his co host at all simply being he would get to rabid and only twist words but not use fact to back up any thing. I believe a co-host that is fact based would be a good mix. who that is I could not say as none seam to be that that I have seen so fat they all seam to be rhetoric based and nothing on facts . that being may be a new one that is a so called expert in each field so that they might have a fact or two to work with and then we may even get some were because a good two sided discussion on facts is always better then what the liberals have throw out there to date so far . This is why Sean always wins in the arena.
Still think it should be Hannity and Olbermann! On the funny side, I think Olbermann would be crying real tears within the first week. But I can't think of two more different sides of the political coin.

I think Rush Limbaugh should replace Colmes. They could just tell each other how they are running the world and that they are the only true intelligent human beings. I think Kirsten Powers would be a good replacement for Alan Colms. I am a Conservative myself, and do disagree with Alan alot, but I myself see nothing wrong with a good debate. I think she would be a good person to have on the show. If not, I would just like to see people just fill in if she don't take the job.

What about Geraldine Ferraro? Keith Olberman is a sportscaster by trade. Besides, why would he give up his own show to be a CO-host with somebody else? But Geraldine Ferraro has been on TV more in the last month than she has in the last 20 years. I think Sean should do it on his own with very few liberal guests. Liberals are wrong, period. By giving them a voice on this show we give their cause credibility. I know we have to appear fair and balanced, but sometimes being right means not being fair. I think that is why God said do not be unequally yoked... and He was not just talking about marriage, He was talking about business partners, close friends etc.

Hosting two television shows and a radio show daily is very demanding. If I was his programming director, I would suggest having Hannity's America replace the Hannity and Colmes time slot. Wouldn't make sense to host two solo shows on television.

Maybe Geraldo Rivera would be a good choice, he's more macho than Alan Colmes ever was and is a better thinker, plus the fact Alan Colmes wrote a book that barely sold 3,000 copies that most liberals hated(anyone who thinks O.J. Hannity with surprise guests would be lively and varied. But if there has to be a co-host Dick Morris or Juan Williams would be great, much more palatable than Alan has been. He gave me indigestion.

What about Ken Schram, who is currently a commentator at KOMO Radio in Seattle? He's a Democrat and one of the hosts of the radio show called "The Commentators" that has a similar format like the Hannity/Colmes show had, where there are 2 hosts.......... one Conservative and one Democrat (or Liberal).
Having said that, though, why don't you think about a different format? Either go solo or have another Conservative host the show with you? John Carlson, who you had as a guest on your show earlier this year, Sean, would be another great person to consider. He's another Conservative and very articulate and knowledgeable about politics. He would be awesome on your show replacing Alan. Hope you seriously can consider him. John Carlson is the other half of The Commentators show I mentioned earlier.

Bob Beckel would be a good foil for Sean. It will push Hannity to work harder in order to neutralize Beckel. Sean tends to relax when dealing with women like Estrich and Powers. Sean is at his best when he is foaming in the mouth.

Hannity and his followers ("Hannimaniacs") are so far gone all they can do is kackle, cluck, and grunt to each other. I think Hannity should go it alone. The arguements between and and Alan Colmes has made me stop watching the show. I watch the show quite often however I really will not miss Alan. He is OK but
he does not come off well and frankly is annoying when speaking. I am sure he is a very nice guy overall and he like many is just expressing his thoughts.
That being said I would like to see Sean go solo with different guest. Sean is good at what he does and expresses himself well and not over bearing like some.

At that time, Mr. Obma must present to the Court an authentic birth certificate, after which Mr. Berg will respond. If Obama fails to do that, it is sure to inspire the skepticism of the Justices, who are unaccustomed to being defied. They will have to decide what to do about a president-elect who refuses to prove his natureal born citizenship. If Obama is not a natural U.S. Citizen and therefore ineligible to become President of the United States, the Electors will be duty-bound to honor the Constitution. "I can see a unanimous Court (en banc) decertifying the election if Obama refuses to produce his birth certificate," says Raymond S. Kraft, an attorney and writer. "They cannot do otherwise without abandoning all credibility as guardians of the Constitution. Even the most liberal justices, however loathe they may to do this, still consider themselves guardians of the Constition. The Court is very jealous of its power - even over presidents, even over presidents-elect." Also remember that on December 13, the Electoral College meets to casts its votes. I said awhile back that I liked Susan Estrich. She's a democrat that can at least sometimes see reason. I've never seen her ever dodge a question, she's always ready with answers that are easy to understand and reasonable. Beckel, Ellis, Kirsten, et al are all far too annoying and I would rather see their 'Fox News Contributor' credentials revoked permanently. Someone like Paul Begala would be more substantial and a stronger match for Hannity. Susan Estrich and Kirtsen Powers seem like they would be too easy foils for him. Bob Beckel seems too tight with Hannity and isn't exactly my idea of a hard-left liberal. I see Powers and Estrich as somewhat "soft left" moderates as well.
Maybe FOX should do the opposite of ABC, with their This Week With George Stephanopoulos - their "balanced" round table almost always has three or four flaming liberals (George, Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts, and sometimes one more), "balanced out" with George Will as the token conservative. This was the same tack that Bill Maher always took on his Politically Incorrect, having himself and three other liberals "beat up" on a token conservative. But even if they did this, I'm guessing that the conservatives would still end up being polite, unlike the libs from these other shows. As Shawn says, the mainstream media is dead - anyone who can't see their total liberal bias / agenda has their eyes closed.

And the liberal balance is even more important than ever with the rapid decline of his brand of conservatism due to the Bush legacy deterioration in the second term, and the Palin debacle on the McCain ticket.
A liberal female co-host would be interesting since Sean can hit the ground running with all of the real-life sparring he has under his belt with his wife, and her Democratic and liberal idealogy she has had for some time, going back to her affiliation in Atlanta with Creative Loafing Magazine, as many of us know. In order to keep a similar format (Lib vs. Logic) on the show, why not have Colmes' seat filled on a regular 'Guest Lib' basis? Have libs from all media formats, including Hollywood, to sit for teh entire show and interact with the guests. That way we get to learn more about the Guest Libs' true beliefs, as well as see them in extemporaneous situations/discussions and make them really justify their own beliefs for all teh world to see and understand.
That would also enable Hannity to dispel teh conventional wisdom of the day that the Guest Lib would likley spew, after getting his/her views from all the usual MSM sources. I'd even go along with teh Robbins/Sarandon types. Have Babs and her freshly Bush-bussed cheeks on the show! Hannity could keep the show moving forward. He's proven his mettle.
Bob Beckel is my choice. He and Sean can banter with each other with the best of them PLUS Beckel, just like Hannity, uses facts or real sources to support his position when he talks or prognosticates. Hooray Colmes is gone! We finally got Fox news a couple of months ago and I was so excited to be able to watch Hannity. The first time we did and saw Colmes I could not stand the man. Hannity needs to stand alone as O'Reilly does. O'Reilly claims to be 'middle of the road', but is sounding more like the pages of the Enquirer every day with a lot of the topics he chooses to cover. Kirsten Powers is too attractive and is distracting to be on that show. Or let Kirsten have Hannity's sunday night slot alone. How 'bout dat dere ?
Yes, Elizabeth will be a very refreshing face to see every night. The one thing that I would like to know is WHEN THE HECK IS THIS GUY LEAVING!!!!!! I can't take one more night of seen his horrible face and his sarcastic personality. WE HAD ENOUGH PUNISHMENT ALREADY!!
I nominate Al Franken because he so transparently represents the truly insane, ill logical, maniacle, genocidal anti-free market, destructive anti-American viewpoints of the far left so often represented as centrist or moderate by the left with a straight face. He along with his ludricrous antics would truly be a laugh riot. As such he would be high spirited, high entertainment. We could all enjoy an hour of rolling on the floor watching this idiot. I am so jaded listening to these silly hackneys old school leftists and tired '68ers who take them selves so seriously with their out of date, inaccurate, misleading, and duplicitious talking points. Save Kirsten Powers for O'Reilly, as having semi-attractive blondes on his show is the only reason for his high ratings, and is proven so by his radio show tanking. Go at it alone Sean. Hannity's America is the best show on T.V. I'm just unsure if he'd have enough material everyday for 3 hours of radio then an hour on T.V. alone too.
Just don't pick Beckel. I couldn't stand Colmes, but Beckel is the ONLY person on the show that makes me turn to King of Queens instead.
Ironically, Deb (12/11/08, 1:45 am ... also my name), said practically everything I wanted to say except to tell Colmes to get that left eyebrow fixed. I suggest Juan Williams if you absolutely can't avoid putting another liberal on the show. At least he is reasonable and doesn't ask the same airhead questions ad infinitum / ad nauseam. Honestly, I am more aligned to Sean's point of view, but the 2 of you have given me many hours of enjoyable political and view television. Thanks to both of you. In terms of a replacement, Kirsten, absolutely not. She is a pretty face, but really for being so young, does not have any idea how to analyze news or to ask meaningful questions. She is basically I am right, you are wrong, and I don't need to know anything else int he future. Kirsten needs to in short grow up.

I am a liberal and I must say that Alan was not the right person for this type of format. While I do not like Sean he is very good at defening conservative ideals. I think Fox should keep the format but find a strong Liberal that can match the wits of Sean. That would attact the largest group.

I think Hannity should either go solo and just have liberal guests on the show or, chose someone like Elizabeth Hasselbeck. After being "vomited" on by the liberals on other news stations, listening to Hannity's conservative views are breaths of fresh air!
I'm glad that Colmes is leaving. I thought he was rude with guests that objected his liberal views by interrupting them and never letting them finish their point. I became so annoyed that I started to mute him and just sit and wait for Sean Hannity to talk.

Colmes should go. I would watch more of Hannity and Colmes but because of his presence I don't watch the show. Quite frankly I can't stand Colmes. He adds nothing to the arguments, and usually clouds them, like liberals do, making the viewer very upset. The best thing would be to pair Glen Beck and Hannity together. That combo would be dynamite. Why be fair and balanced? People don't want fair and balanced, they want the truth, not watered down liberal crap. Hannity and Beck. It has a ring!

Hi Sean.....love your show. I am a fan of Ted Nugent and would really enjoy hearing more from him. Love his down home conservetive views which are shocking to many people now because they have never heard the truth stated to bluntly. In days past this thinking was the norm and things worked so much better for our country. People had respect for the word "NO". Please consider Ted for your partner...he really does rock. Glad Alan is gone....what a total doof. Never made a lick of sense.
