I am getting very tired of bailing all of these companies when they are in this mess from their own mismanagement. To handle their problems they are laying off workers instead of making cuts in their own high priced salaries. Why don't they cut their salaries and the salaries of those who are in upper management? They expect us the taxpayer to get them out of trouble when most of us are struggling as well. My wife became disabled last year after a heart attack and two small strokes. We have applied for disability but have been denied. We hired a lawyer but it still may be up to two years before we get a hearing. We are barely surviving on my Social Security check and a part time job. What gripes me is that the government can sit down and in a few days or months can decide to spend twenty five billion of our money on this bail out and it can take two years for them to make a decision on my wifes small disability check.

America is "supposed to be" a free market, capitalist society that is based on risk. Apparently with all of the bailouts we're turning more and more towards a centralized socialistic society that panders towards people and businesses that want handouts. If we really want that then we should all close up shop here and move to Canada!

Your right Larry all that money the UAW and the other unions paid the Demacate party is paying off they want the average american making 15.00 an hour to help out the poor guys in Detriot making 50.00 an hour plus benifits, I guess they are to good to take a pay cut like every other company thats had money problems, why are all the non union car makers showing a provit for the last 5 years?

I think all this borrowing money to stimulate the economy is a bunch of crap. I understand all these large companies is who make the jobs and all, but a lot of mismanaging is what caused their problems. I think our economy would be better off if the government gave each individual 500,000.00 instead of these companies and banks then it would help everybody out and stimulate the economy in the process. Our governement thanks that bailing out banks is going to help people out, I think not. What about the people who have bad credit and cannot borrow money. The only people able to borrow money are businesses and the rich. Us poor people will still be no better off than before.

Any one who has run a business knows when you go to a bank, if you can not tell how your going to PAY IT BACK no [BAILOUT] loan. These companies need a clean sweep of management and direction. CONSUMERS WANT VALUE NOT VOLUME.
