It may be interesting to have some activities that are educational in this technology age, using cell phones; local and international. I think there is great potential for something fun and educational!
Did you see Liz Kolb's new book, Toys to Tools: Connecting Student Cell Phones to Education, www.iste.org/toytul that just came out in November? Her book discusses a host of innovative and interesting uses for cell phones that don't require using it in the classroom. She includes lessons and resources throughout the book that are easily adaptable and appropriate for any grade level. She also has a webinar coming up on December 16, that explores ways that cell phones can be used for learning, www.iste.org/webinars. She'll also addresses the concerns about student use of cell phones. I hope this is of help.
