If the government fails to assist the car manufacturers, the toll is much greater than most are considering: All the manufacturing of the suppliers will also go out of business (at least 30 companies in Catawba, Caldwell, Burke and Alexander counties will go out of business); your plumber, electrician, handyman, construction builder, lawn maintenace, etc will also fold (no vehicles to run their business out of). The impact will literally be several MILLION of people out of work. Unemployment will triple or more; state governments will go broke trying to pay unemployment; crime will increase; even more homes and auto loans will go into repossessions; credit card losses will increase; etc.

The impact of the American Auto Industry going under is mammoth! Think this all the way through before you say no!

I'm tired of hearing how big business needs our hard earned pennies because they can't budget their billions. Let the free market bail 'em out. Since the oil industry stands to earn the most from there being an auto industry, maybe the oil industry should share their record earnings with Ford, Chevy and Dodge.
