Gotta at least try for Leach and/or Peterson-they would take over the Big East. Edsall is the "safe" Pasqualoni-like hire.

Phillip Fulmer. Vol fans and alums have been spoiled, and didn't know how good they had it!

Lane Kiffen is the best choice of this group , if he'll even consider taking over a program this deep in the hole. Remember his ties to So. Cal . Turner Gill is 13 - 21 at Buffalo, no great accomplishment. Most of tjis list is probably not interested in SU. GOOD LUCK AD - DG.

Kiffin would be a decent choice, but with Al Daivs being an Alumn there is little chance that eh will donate to the program if Lane is affiliated with the program. Randy Edsall has got to be the best choice especially with him being on the coaching staff durring a much brighter day.

Mike Leetch would be and $#^*&$ fool if he leaves Texas Tech and the Big XII to come to a far inferior competeition, program histroy not withstanding. but he and Chris Peterson are almost as a longshot as Kiffin.

The Best choice is the one that nobody talks about-Steve Logan-current Offensive Coordinator at Boston College and former Head Coach of the East Carolina Pirates.
Coach Logan is one of the brightest Offensive minds in the game and he successfully recruited at East Carolina-he could sell water to a drowning man-he is the one candidate who could tailor an offense to take advantage of the no wind vacuum of the Carrier Dome. Look at how he is doing at B.C.-very well thank you-Plus we owe the traitorous Golden Eagles of the ACC a little "Pay Back"-don`t you think so ?
One time I called Coach Logan on his radio show and I asked him,"Coach you had a fourth and 2 from the six-why didn`t you kick a field goal"-he replied-"I work my offense all week to score touchdowns-I ain`t goin for no minus fours"-you do the math-this guy is a gunslinger who has the brains and the heart of a champion"-he will git `er DONE !!!!!!-Steve Logan with a top notch defensive coordinator could be a big winner fast and he is what we need- he could bring us Big East Championships fast and then we beat those ACC bastards at B.C.-Payback is HELL - I`m Engy currently living in Chapel Heel NC-but I bleed ORANGE eternally and I would have paid for this message if they charged me.

I agree with Chris, I live in Knoxville and as a transplant from Syracuse, these people are freaking crazy, Fulmer has had only two loosing seasons in 17 yrs.

I think Daryl Gross should be the next head coach- Then we can fire his arse too.

This affirimative action AD hire has run SU into the ground..

Here here Daryl- First big decision- and he's a disaster..

What about Lloyd Carr? I also think Fulmer would be great, he does owe SU for a terrible pass interference call that helped the Vols win the National Title...

What about Willie Chestnut as new SU head coach? He has a 53 - 7 record during his 5 year head coaching stint in division 2. A good recruiter with knowledge of NorthEast talent.

13-21 No great accomplishment @ UB for turner Gill? He'd be PERFECT for SU! He has completely turned around a program that was the laughing stock of the entire country. This would also fill a void in the minority coaching block for the university as well. With only 4 minority coaches in college football, Syracuse could bring one in with a STRONG background. I kno wmany of you have your opinions but Gill is my choice!

Bob Casullo deserves a look. The interview process will reveal the right stuff. He is trained and prepared to lead SU football.

Again I have to ask, where is Kevin Rogers in all of these discussions? I also like that Steve Logan call too! I remember when they would beat us on occasion. Coach P was notorious for working 16+ hour days. All the while Steve Logan and his staff kept reasonable hours and still managed to whoop us a couple of times. I still miss K-ROG and his offense(w/Donovan McNabb), though.

Agree completely with Jon. Petersen or Leach. We are not serious about changing the football program if we don't at least go after them big time.

Tom Bradley D-Coordinator/de facto head coach of PSU. He basically coaches the team right now. He is also a top recruiter for them and will be able to bring in a bunch of recruits from the North East and Mid Atlantic (the Pittsburgh area is rich in college talent). Since Joe Pa will never step down at PSU this is a good chance for him to show what he can do as a head coach. He may turn it down, but it would be foolish of SU not to offer him the position.

I would love to see the Cuse hire Steelers X-coach Bill Cower....A real winner and a great recruiter and motivator.....Have not heard his name even mentioned as a possibility.....Maybe it's a long shot but worth a look.

!00 former players sign a letter and send it in to the AD recommending a coach, and you don't even include him in the survey? Steve Addazio would be a great choice. He is the Assistant Head Coach at Florida(how is that working out?) He is a great coach, recruiter, and motivator of players. He has been to numeruos BCS bowl games at Syracuse , ND, and Florida. He was the O-Coordinator at Indiana for 2 years as well. This is a Noetheast guy who would be a perfect fit for SU!

Steve Logan and Kevin Rogers get my vote. Those two guys have more brains regarding big east football and experience then all the other Has-Beens put together on that list. . Nither one has a HC position at the moment
and will probably jump at the chance at SU! Edsall is a close 3rd pick. Keep the coach hunt in the east people.

Ok, all the talk of getting a coach with Big East experience is making me sick... Newsflash- The Big East is NOT the conference for football champions! There was a time when the East played hard-nosed football- and was successful! But times have changed and so has the game. We need to hire a coach with name recognition and a decent record to match. The program is in the shape it is now because the AD hired a little known guy from a program that is being run like a NFL franchise... USC is practically on auto-pilot AND is in "sunny" Calilfornia... SU cannot recruit the talent in its own back yard (Mike Hart), so why should we wait for another unknown guy- give him time to get new players and wait another 3-4 years? Win now... Pay the bucks to a coach who will (at least) bring some excitement to the Cuse. He might even have a chance at some of the real talent in the northeast that won't give the Cuse a visit...

It's all about recruiting.

Like to see Randy Edsall, and like to see Edsall put out "feelers' to Qadry Ismail.
