I'm just curious about Dave's comment above where he stated: "the free market will dictate conservation" does it mean that regardless of the environment the 'free market' has the last say about what to do with resources? please enlighten

They already harvested it, it's not like them holding it there will make any difference. Eventually, when there is a shortage of these items the free market will dictate conservation, but for now, let the businesses do what they need to do. Lots of people rely on those resources.
