ECU unveiled a new Pee Dee The Pirate for homecoming this past weekend, what do you think of his makeover?

His pants are too tight, his coat is too short, his head is too big and his smile is rediculous. Whoever designed him must have been out of their mind. Bring the Old Pee Dee back!!!!

Both old and new looked silly - I mean, come on...he's a PIRATE. The mascot needs to be less cartoon-ish. And while I'm on the subject, the GOLD for the school should be GOLD, not mustard yellow.

Pirates don't smile....and he looks like he been out in the sun too long. he needs to look like he means business not like he is on drugs. BRING OLD PEE DEE BACKKKKK!

What's with the skin? And I agree, the smile is goofy. That said, the old one wasn't that great either and the costume itself was getting kind of "funky". They need one of those folks who dress up as pirates in Beaufort - skip the bobble-headed costume.

The new look is a joke. I don't know who designed him at ECU but whoever did gets a failing grade. Pirates are supposed to be intimidating, not cartoonish. Whose idea was this? Why wasn't the student body or alumni involved? Bring back the old one or redesign the new one to look like a Pirate, not Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

Please for the sake of ECU, LOSE THE NEW MASCOT! He is so gay looking! I can understand changing the clothing, but that shit eating grin needs to go!

What's with that stupid grin ???? He's a pirate for heaven sakes, he should be scary, intimidating..... I'm all for giving PeeDee an updated look, but I think you missed the boat....

Bring back PeeDee or give him ANOTHER makeover. His face is awful. Folks are right...the yellow should be more gold. Personally, I think the guy dressed up as Johnny Depp who ran across the field during the last game, would be cool as a mascot. True, you couldn't use him to make those cute commercials, but he'd look good running out of the pirate ship with his sword and then running around the perimeter of the stadium. Of course, then you'd have to change his name because "PeeDee" really wouldn't work for a real pirate. :-)

I think this is a move from the kinder, more gentle society that people are trying to portray. I wish people would stop trying to get rid of tradition and making a name for themselves. What was wrong the old Pee Dee? Why cant people leave things alone? If it isn't broke, then don't fix it. Bring back the original Pee Dee now!!!!!!

The new pee dee is so stupid. The designer was out of his mind. Being a student here, I've talked to numerous people about the new pee dee, and not one of them has had anything positive to say about it. No one likes it!!!!! Terry Holland is the man and I know he will bring back the old pee dee.

What a waste of resources......That is the most sickening-looking thing I have ever seen. Is he choking on something? Is that why he's such a strange color? And those teeth grinning.....What were they thinking? The picture scared my kids and me. Bring back the old PeeDee.....

I think ECU has shown how easily they will sell out. Some dentist throws a little cash their way, and ECU will change the most popular, well known and respected mascot in Eastern Carolina into something out of a cheesy theme park, marketing a horrible smile and a spray tan to match. College football is becoming too money crazy, which makes me sick.
