The Conservatives don't dislike Obama because he's black. They dislike him because:

7. Anti Military

He has already begun touting HIS agenda. Not the agenda of the country but, that of the man who seeks to dominate us with his will. Just read the statements on his website and you will see he intends to do what he wants whether it is constitutional or not.

Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."

The fact is those so-called Assault weapons are the most common rifles sold in this country since the AWB sunsetted. That means that based on the SCOTUS ruling in Heller v D.C. they cannot be banned again. Barrack Obama is well aware of this fact but, does not care. Welcome to the big lie.

I am sorry I voted for him. I will never stray from the conservative path again.

With what has happened in this country in the last year alone, he certainly can't do any worse. But of course everyone is going to expect he fix everything within his first 6 months of office so they can say I told you so. Give me a break!! Boy - ALOT of cranky conservatives this morning. Bush and the Republicans had their chance to promote their agenda of war, padding the pockets of the rich, ignoring global warming, trashing the oor to middle class, de-regulating business to it's near death, promoting dependency on oil, and alienating the rest of the world. The person the Republicans put in this high office is now the one they are running from...poor dumb George Bush. There are so many Republican 'scandals' from homosexuality to bribery, you'd think they were all friends of the Clintons.... Don't you think it is time for some other option? If McCain really knew anything at all, he wouldn't have picked an idiot for VP. He wouldn't have panicked with the economic crisis, and he would have had a PLAN. He didn't. Get over it. Start working hard within your own power to promote America. Buy local/promote local, volunteer to help others, recycle and save natural resourves, work first to improve your own personal world. The rest will follow.

Let's be honest. The voters have long supported socialism. This country was dominated for 50 years by the New Deal coalition, remember? The Reagan and Gingrich revolutions were never against the New Deal. They were against the Great Society. Thus, people have never opposed socialism for themselves.

People have for decades wanted free public schools, grants to go to college, retirements, medical care, money to keep their businesses and farms afloat, etc. So in other words, Americans supported the socialism that benefitted [sic] them and people like them.

They just opposed it for the other guy. The Great Society was easy pickings, because it went to a small segment of society that, let's face it, most people didn't like anyway.

In other words, when most of Europe went hard right in the wake of global depression, America went socialist with FDR and the New Deal--and loved it. But when that New Deal got extended to minorities and the desperately poor, many people freaked out. The Old Dixiecratic South switched to the GOP, and the rest is history.

But the GOP never even seriously tried to cut off the spigot of the huge amounts of money going to "real Americans." By contrast, the GOP actually gave away more money to their constituents than the Democrats ever dreamed of giving to their inner city base. Remember when Democrats were pointing out that "red state America" was a net economic drain while "blue state America" paid more taxes than they spent? It was 100% true, yet the next GOPer who stood up before his "real American" constituents of suburbanites and middle Americans and told them that they needed to get off welfare and stand on their own two feet would be the first.

No, that was a message for the folks in Barack Obama's inner city, not the Iowans whose economic boom the past few years has been totally due to the government funded ethanol industry.

In other words, the Republican Party isn't about "small government": it's about socialism for corporations and rich white people.

The GOP needs to come up with a "no socialism for anybody" message instead of the "no socialism for the people who we don't like and don't vote for us but plenty of socialism for 'our types of people the real Americans'" message and actions that have dominated the GOP since 1980.

By the way: small government Sarah Palin actually increased spending in her state. So why did we presume that she supported small government and less spending? Simple: because she is a Republican from a state that doesn't have a Chicago, Detroit or Harlem in it. That is precisely the problem that I am speaking of.

In other words, the Republican Party is, above all, a party of lying racist thugs who steal money from the electorate, and have gotten away with it because they refuse to spend it on black people. That's really all she wrote.

And the worst news for the GOP? The country just elected an African-American. As I said many moons ago, Obama's election means the GOP is screwed, because every day an African-American family lives in the White House, is another day the Southern Strategy dies, and people get used to the idea of African-Americans being not "other", but American just like them.

The racist lie upon which the GOP has predicated itself is exposed. We'are ALL "socialists" under their definition, with the rare exception of a few in the utterly discredited Club for Growth crowd. It's just that some of us with a moral sense want to put that "socialism" to work for all of us, while others are content to advocate only for "socialism" for our rich, white, and corporate citizens.

Wow! The far-right Nazis (as in, opposite of Socialist) sure grabbed hold of this opportunity to vomit their ignorance! I expect Mr. Obama will be one of our greatest presidents. Why? Because he is clearly more intelligent and measured than any of those that have recently preceded him. Most importantly to me, he doesn't seem to rely on ignorant and deceptive religious dogma to form his opinions and decisions. Our founding fathers were unanimous in their mistrust and dislike of organized religion. Hence, they were clearly mindful to mandate that the separation of church and state be treasured. Therefore, how ironic that it is the right wing reactionaries who label our more progressive citizens as anti-American. Clearly, Washington, Jefferson and Franklin would be on the side of the Democratic party, and ashamed of what the Republican party has become. So the next time you go to your church to practice your belief in fairy tales, pray for brains!

Just was reading Obama's "Office of the President Elect" website www.change.gov (wow, a government website for a non-existant office, not bad, huh?). Check out the "service" page, I got reminded of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall pt2". Obama will REQUIRE volunteering. (oxymoron, I know.) Middle school and high school children will be REQUIRED to volunteer 50 hours, college students 100 hours a year. I wonder if Barry O will tell our children where they must VOLUNTEER, too? He's already overstepping his bounds and trying to indoctrine our children. Obama needs to keep his hands OFF my children. I'm all for volunteering, but only when it's VOLUNTARY.

Bush wasn't the best president, with that noted. Obama is a strong supporter of genocide. Don't believe me, look at his involvement in the Kenya Government. Look at his view on gun control. He is against defending yourself.

Children should be required to volunteer. It teaches them to reach past their own small lives, and concerns about the right sneakers or jeans or cell phones. Teaches them about giving rather than taking. Volunteers save communities money. Bring back the CCC's, expand Americorp, bring back Peace Corp. Require mandatory enlistment in either the army, or some local, state or government function for one year. Make volunteering a mandatory requirement of borrowing money for school. Or for kids who commit early misdemeanors (more than community service).

If you want a country, state, town to run well, get involved. As JFK said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'
Or at the very least, take some personal responsibility for breathing.
