Yeah, our entire ministry budget as a staff just got cut in half, literally. Everyone had to go to 50% for all of 09.
Yeah... Our 2009 Budget was required to be 30% less than 2008 (which was cut in by $3000 in May). Then after the final number were in, it was still cut another 15%.
Yeah, we have been told not to spend money at all. Not just because of the economy, because my church got zapped by lighting and we had to replace 3 computers and and sound system aswell. We really fill a crunch.
My position was cut to part time and my budget went to "no spending without prior approval."
I think the congregation is feeling the pinch, but our Youth Ministry - all be it a very small one - has actually seen an increase in giving based on the fact that the congregation wants to support the future. We've been very honored...
Since March of 07 til now have not been able to use my $12k budget.for 2009 my budget is $4 and I can access only $200 a month. a friend from college has given and supported our entire youth ministry this year.
