Nortel should be saved. Nortel's future is the future of our tech talent coming out of Canada's colleges and universities. Nortel, regardless, of its shortcomings, has put a glee in the eyes of thousands of past grudates when it attended our colleges and universities to hire these graduates. These graduates have grown with the company and have paid taxes throughout their careers to this Country. Now their pensions have stopped. This does not put a glee the eyes of these Canadian employees nor in the eyes of the widows of past Nortel employees whose pensions have stopped, nor is there a future for our future graduates in the great field.
Also, from its humble Brampton beginnings, Nortel research and development was a Canadian taxpayers investment too. Canadians cannot loose their edge here. The price to pay is too high.
Nortel's employees are dedicated and talented. Canadian talent should stay in Canada and we should keep our edge here.
Get rid of this managment! Save Nortel now before it is too late or there will be no glee in Canada if the mighty Nortel (uour tech future) strikes out.
