Google's logo at this point is more well know and I am a loyal user but Yahoo's logo has always had more personality. And when Yahoo's logo was tied in with its jingle, both meshed perfectly.
If Google's logo was strong enough on its own, I don't think they would have originally created the special daily logos...which have improved its overall logo personality significantly, in my opinion.
