Should there be a swap limit on all swappers?

No more than 25 swaps and even that seems overwhelming to me. I only sign up for about 4-5 max at one time....but I really don't think anyone can keep up with more than 25. It's the one's with the most who seem to be flaking a lot.

I think there should be a monthly/bi monthly fee (that is small) because I think it would deter those with initial intentions to flake. Even if the fee was small I don't think they'd want to pay to flake people..and the money could go towards the website hosting, etc.

I think a limit of around 20-25 swaps is fine for everyone. That's why the watchlist was created- to keep track or swaps that you may or may not eventually join.

There is no sense in anyone signing up for hundreds of swaps, especially swaps in the far future. Unless you are psychic, no one knows what you'll be doing in two, three or four months when the swap comes due.

I have also noticed that those who flake on purpose do tend to join more than 50 swaps at once, especially high dollar/ hight effort swaps. If there was a limit, it might save some of the problems with locating angels for hundreds of swaps at once.

Now that we can "watch" swaps, there's no need to rush into signing up for them if they are a ways out. I don't mind the tiered idea either. I think if there were a limit, we might see better quality swaps out of some people.

I agree with the 20-25 limit on swaps, and putting the rest of the swaps you're interested in into the "watch" category. I have no more than 5-8 swaps at a time that are "active"...the rest are in the "watch" category. It's easy...and potentially eliminates some of the issues with flakers and people who are unable to follow-through with the many swaps they've overcomitted to due to being overwhelmed or a personal crisis.

I think 25 swaps max sounds good. There's no reason why a person should have 25 OPEN swaps with partners assigned when we have the watch system. Maybe it would inspire people to send their swaps sooner instead of waiting until the very last minute.
