What are your thoughts on Eduardo Verástegui's latest campaign?

I always thught this idiot was gay, in Mexico City people know in fact he is gay. He has turned to Catholisisim to fight his gay feelings, but he has to start being honest and accept himself. What a waste of time t fight people's rights, he needs to remember that discrimination is discrimination.

Pardon me, but I must defend him because I support him 100% in all of his opinions and actions because what he preaches is what MY church, the Catholic Church preaches. I think its a wonderful thing to see that FINALLY a celebrity is representing themselves in a positive Catholic way. The catholic church opposes abortion because the unborn have a right. A right to live. No matter what the circumstances of that pregnancy may have been, the child is a child of God and has the right to life, it is no ones decision but God's who should live or die. That unborn child has the same value as one that is born. Secondly, the Church opposes gay marriage because it is an offense against the sacrament of marriage. God created man and woman so they may procreate and care for the world and eachother. Two men or two women cannot bear children, their love can be exhibited in other ways. In MY opinion, homosexuality is based on SEX. Plain and simple. Why cant they just have an abstinant relationship? Why must they have sex? Its morally wrong. Therefore, perhaps you should do some research on who or what you are attacking and then you may finally find the TRUTH.

I want to say that both comments are right. Everybody suppose Verastegui is gay. And second, thanks for explaining us the catholic principles, but you forget my dear, that those apply for those within the catholic church. Why Verastegui wants to impose everybody his beliefs? he should preach God's love not minority discrimination. And in MY opinion 90 % of heterosexual marriage is based on SEX, plain and simple, or you ignore the divorce percentage?, which in y opinion, divorce also is based on SEX.

C-list, Z-list? What witty comments. Our society is so absorbed in celebrity and ignorant, that people actually think putting someone in such category actually means anything. WHO CARES HOW FAMOUS HE IS IN AMERICA? Here is a human being who is doing things to better our world because he actually cares about other things besides himself and how cool he looks. I am not Catholic, but I am Christian. I am pro-life and against gay marriage. I don't hate gay people and I think women should have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies, just not with the life that's growing inside them. God bless Eduardo.

By the way, he is not yelling pro-life rants outside of clinics. He's sharing the facts about abortion with the women who are going in to get one (such as possibly getting serious infections, not being able to have children ever again and even death). He also lets them know that he's not there to judge them, just that there are people out there who care about them and that they have other options. Most women who go to get an abortion feel that they are alone and are devastated over chosing to do it. There's a reason for that, they know in their heart that it's wrong.

OK, ask anyone in Mexico “in the know” in the entertainment industry, and they will tell that Eduardo is GAY, closet or not. He came to the US, lived with Ricki Martin, fell in love with him, but Ricki dumped him. He is known to be gay, but all of a sudden he starts to have issues with being dumped and gay, and decides to go “religioso”. I mean it’s fine if he wants to go CONservative Catholic and hide his gayness behind the Catholic Church (how apropos!). But how dare he come to the United States of America, where he is a GUEST in our homeland, and attempt to sway latinos in the US with his archaic views of marriage. Even our “madre patria”, Spain which is a Catholic country, allows gay marriage. I mean if he is closeted and can’t deal with it, or rather figures he will hide behind the Catholic Church closet, fine. But don’t go about PROACTIVELY trying to deny gay Californians marriage equality. And in country that is not even his. He lives within 2 miles of GAY West Hollywood, and yet he is doing this nonsense. Trust me, Hollywood is gay and if he thinks moving to Los Angeles will help him, I think he has a rude awakening waiting for him. He just committed career suicide in LIBERAL hollywood. Can we say “persona non grata”? Gay marriage is not wrong bc the Catholic church says it is wrong or because it goes against the "sacrament" of marriage...which it does. It is wrong because YHVH says it is wrong! Read the Scriptures. Everybody wants to go to heaven, but the only thing, guess who is going to be there?...Get with His plan or do do really want to know the alternative? If marriage is a sacrameny why does the catholic church forbid certain priests to get married? Does YHVH do this anywhere in Scripture?
