Let me say this, I am 72 years old and I have been a republican for my whole life - In 2006, I gave my vote to Scott Brown, be angered me his first term, however, i wanted to give him a second, I will however not give Scott Brown a third term that be like giving George Bush a third term and I am fureated with the way Scott Brown talks to children, I am furiated by the way Scott Brown represents are district. I have tried countless times to get this man who lives in the same town as me, nearly down the street to work on issues important to this community and he has let his district down. I wont do us a diservice on November 4th, I am going to Stand with voters who are tired of the same "Politics" from soon to be former State Senator Scott Brown on November 4th by giving my vote to Democrat Sara Orozco, I believe as a mother of two children, a breast cancer survivor and a psychologist she is going to represent this district well. She will listen to the voices of her constituents whether Republican or Democrat or unenrolled. Vote for Sara Orozco, Democrat for State Senate!
I agree that it would be more useful to voters to be able to watch the entire interview rather than just snippets. Moreover, I hope that the Needham Times and other editorial meeting participants are not relying on a poll to determine their editorial decisions but rather that they each quickly and clearly endorse Sara Orozco's candidacy. Scott Brown has not served the needs of this district nor has he ever provided meaningful leadership and he does not deserve your vote.
Sara Orozco seems to be a woman of good sense. I met her at the Needham Harvest Fair a few weeks ago. Her campaign had been given a place right next to the hugely amplified "entertainment", but we walked off enough so that I could have a chance actually to hear what she had to say. I now proudly display her sign on my lawn, and will vote for her in the election. It is time and past time foe common sense in government!!
Brown doesn't represent us with the dignity and respect we deserve. He did a disservice to the office of state senator by speaking the way he did at the King Philip Regional High School in February 2007. Sara Orozco is a breath of fresh air in this election. Even before the election, she is holding district-wide forums to discuss issues and bring people together. She is a person who listens and cares and leads. I've know Sara for several months now, and am certain she will be a senator we can be proud of.
Scott’s opponent would like everyone to know she should be state senator because in her words “I am a good listener”. With all the issues our state and towns are dealing with we need someone who has the qualifications, leadership, integrity and experience to work on Beacon Hill. These are difficult times and we deserve leadership who will do more than listen but actually have a record of doing to stand behind. Sorry Susan, but listening does not make you qualified to be our state senator.Scott Brown is the leader we need and deserve.
I actually think 4 out of 6 is a pretty good record. But maybe that's just because I'm voting for anyone but Brown this time around...he voted against my right to marry and does not represent my family's needs!
Please show that interview in its entirety.
Sara will be a tireless worker on behalf of all people.
She would be a real asset to state government.
This is a great opportunity for us to put in the senate someone who has a vision of government as responsive to people's needs. Sara is an intelligent, committed candidate, who will represent our district with care and fairness for all. Let us see the whole interview.
Contrast Sara's diligence and intelligence with Scott Brownn's arrogance and sense of entitlement. He has not be chosen to head one committee in his time on Beacon Hill. The district needs to be represented by someone who listens and serves ALL the people. His stance on gambling as a source of revenue is opposed by the majority. Slot machines have no place in our Commonwealth.
This whole issue was stirred up by Brown to distract voters from the real issues. I'm much more worried about Brown's voting record than I am about how many local elections Sara voted in. Brown voted against the Life Sciences bill - the industry that stands the best chance of pulling us out of the economic trouble we're in. He didn't even show up to vote on the Tobacco tax - he said he was at military duty. But, considering he told the CNC editorial board on Friday that he had to cut their interview short because he had military duty lthat he had to leave for almost immediately, but was then seen flipping pancakes at the Needham Rotary Club pancake breakfast the next morning, who knows if he actually had service when the Tobacco vote was taken or if he just wanted to avoid a controversial vote.
He beat the drum to "let the people vote" in 2007, but now he's saying that he will NOT listen to the people's will on Question One. He tells people that he works 24/7 as the senator for our district. Yet his own financial disclosure statements prove he has earned $60,000 - $100,000 a year in his private law practice in each of the past five years.
And, of course, Brown wanted to stop equal marriage in this state in the worst way. On top of which, he's bought and paid for by the gaming industry. If we're going to take a good hard look at anyone's voting predilections, it should be Scott Brown's.
Scott Brown's negative campaign – which is straight from the Republican playbook –is designed to create a smoke screen to distract from the issues that really matter to our families and our communities.
The real question is---In tough times, who can we really trust to put the concerns of middle class families first? For too long we have lacked leadership in the Senate around our most important concerns. That is why I am running for State Senate. My top priority will always be to help middle class families struggling with the high cost of good healthcare, education and housing. I will focus on creating good lasting jobs through public-private partnerships, like the Life Sciences Act – which my opponent opposed. I will work to reduce class sizes and better prepare our children for college and to compete in today's economy. And with 20 years of professional experience in the healthcare field, I will be a fierce advocate for policies that will ensure that every family can get the care they need at price they can afford.
I am confident that the voters of this district are looking for a champion for the middle class, someone they can trust always to put their concerns first. As much as I truly appreciate the support from this online community, I hope you will help me make this core contrast clear in the last two weeks of the campaign. Please contact your friends and neighbors on my behalf and ask them to vote for me on Nov. 4th.
Sincerely,
Sara Orozco
Democrat for State Senate
