As of 02/02/2009, this is VERY beta...
For now, it's good to upload your Outlook contacts to Google and viceversa. If you want to delete a contact, you better do it in both places, otherwise you'll have it back at the next "sync". Same thing if you need to modify a contact because none of the changes you make will be updated at the "other end".
Hopefully this will be ready soon, because it's much needed. Thank you.
I cannot create any gmail account in the plugin - have nothing to sync with. Programming issue?
No way to delete or modify added accounts (edit is grayed out) and no support for Google Apps users. (account not created for anything besides @gmail.com)
This is not good for me. I couldn't get it to save my account details. Similar comment to ondrej. Not recomended
Failed to Sync. Would begin to sync then each time gave the following error msg:

Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ContactItem'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{00063021-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).

works for me for basic sync. problem is that Gmail only lists contacts as "full name" and outlook understands first and last name, so i'll often get duplicates because of that.
my main problem is i don't know how often it syncs? does it only sync when i manually ask for it? that's not much good, since the whole point is that i don't want to have to worry anymore if my contacts are synched or not.
still, only free app out there that comes close to synching, so for now, works for me... pleeease add functionality though!
Same sync errors as Doug on both vista and XP, shame as I was really hoping this would work :o(
