Would you buy an electric blanket?

Why get a coal fired blanket when you can get a good duvet and let your body heat do it?

No, I wouldn't have EMF that close to my body all night long all winter.

Yes, it makes sense to heat locally just what you need rather than the whole house.

I use a small electric "cushion" to warm me up when I go to bed, I switch it off before goingt to sleep. My bedroom is unheated. I don't know, if heating water for a hot water bottle wouldn't guzzle up more energy. When it gets really cold I put it under my feet when sitting at my computer.

EMF? Are you kidding me? A cell phone is tons worse than some 60Hz generated EMF. Ridiculous. I'm paranoid, but...

its great!

No worries about EMFs. Here's why: We used to turn the heat down in our house every night and just heat the bedroom with an electric heater - until our electric bills kept going up and up each winter. Now we have an electric blanket under the sheet on out bed and several blankets over that. Just turn the blanket on 5 or 10 minutes before you get into bed and it's nice and toasty! No matter how cold the house is (we heat it at 52 during winter nights) we can turn the blanket off within 10 minutes of being in bed and be warm through the night with the many layers of blankets over us. There is absolutely no need to leave one on all night - in fact, I find it way too warm. Try it if you live in a cold climate - you'll love it!
